danshive
I didn't exactly witness a prolonged fight, but I did see one dragon roast another to death. Anybody else see this sort of thing happen? Specifics from my highly eloquent tumblr retelling: I was wandering around Skyrim, being all dragonborn, when I saw a dragon flying around in the distance. I was sneakily making my way up a hill towards it when the “you are fighting a dragon” music started, but I hadn’t yet reached the dragon I was making my way towards. It was then that I was bit at from behind by the other dragon I didn’t even know was there. Things got a big hectic after that, but it wasn’t long before the dragon who attacked me had flown further up on the hill, and the original dragon I was after basically napalmed it from above with its fire breath, finishing it off for me. I thought we were going to be best buds for life after that, but then it swooped down at me and I had to beat it to death with a mace. Once I’d gathered up their bones and scales (as one does), I found myself wondering what their deal was. Maybe that dragon and I were fated to never be best buds, but those two were supposed to be on the same team. I suppose that’s an unfair assumption on my part, assuming all the dragons are friends, but this is a video game. That sort of horrible prejudice is a bit more justified when it exists by virtue of some nerds at Bethesda coding them that way. If I had to guess, however, these two particular dragons didn’t like each other much, but they knew they were evenly matched, so it would be a risky proposition for either to try and take the other out. Once I’d soften one up, however, that was the other’s opportunity to roast them and pin it on the local dragonborn. What a dick. Not only that, but the smart move would’ve been to help each other defeat me. Well, that, or fly the hell out of there as fast as it could, because I’m the damn dragonborn. amycus
It would make sense story wise if this happened after you finished the main quest...
