Bragar
Basically, me and my 10yr old little brother play skyrim a lot, and i was wondering if there was a way to have 2 copies of skyrim on my computer, and be able to run one without any mods whatsoever, and the other one with mods. Any help would be great, thanks :)
amycus
I havn't tried it, but I'm pretty sure that if you use the mod manager you can simply deactivate any mods you don't want to be running in your current playthough. Then you can reactivate them again later whenever you wish. Edited December 16, 2011 by amycus
gigantibyte
Perhaps someone can mod the mod manager to include profiles? Maybe it's possible to somehow install 2 copies of Steam on the same PC... Or you could get really fancy and create a dual boot system on the PC, each with its own copy of Steam and Skyrim. edit: The Deactivating/activating mods solution seems tedious if there are more than 10. Bragar
With the other TES games yea, but with Skyrim most of the mods i've downloaded so far have just been remeshing existing armor/content, and dont have an .esp to deactivate the mod when he plays >.>...im hoping this will change when the CK comes out, but...lol. bben46
There is a utility for doing this with Oblivion, FO3 & FONV. I'm sure it will be adapted to Skyrim if it hasn't already been. Try it, maybe it will work already.http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35263 Or, my earlier dual Oblivion technique (Not a dual boot) could probably be easily adapted to Skyrim, but it does require a little work to set up.http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Dual_Oblivion It works by swapping the data folder, save folder, and could swap the ini files as well. Before attempting to do this be sure to back up everything.
