To everybody whining about SSE not looking beatiful...

Glad this thread was made. I don't think many understand how good just having the game in 64 bit is.That feature alone will make SSE superior later on as more mods get supported. The pure performance boost and stability is what I always wanted Skyrim to be. The game will look plenty pretty by the community as more visual mods get made so I'm not worried about it.

Can like everyone chill out ? maybe its just that Im almost 30, but the general Internet attitude, of calling, people who disagree, whinners, fanboys, etc really gets on my nerves

guys its a game, okay ? most of us got it for free, if you dont like the special edition or it doesn't work well do two, the age of your computer, (nividia and amd are no longer supporting directx 9) then fine stick to the original.

I like the new one because it ACTUALLY runs stable, I dont need enbs (effect framerate, compatibility and stability) on my computer, but again my computer iwas built in the last three years and has a 970, which as stated above doesn't really support directx 9.

what I personally would like is an update on oblivion, to 64 bit native support, but then that will probably never happen

16,000,000,000 GB.. i'm glad to finally know why the 64 bit is better. I knew it was because of the memory issue. but wow.. i did NOT expect that..

Windows 10 hard cap it at 25GB :D What will we ever do with just 25GB XD

Yeah I cannot complain about this upgrade either, and I can run the game on Ultra settings, I do notice graphical difference, I do like that lighting, and to be honest I am seeing better textures (Especially on stuff like book pages and letters) and by Akatosh, dat 60 FPS, smooth as fresh masoned dwarven stone, and it's in dark areas where you can see that spell effects actually have bloom!!! So good

I like how half of the community is so salty, SSE is free ffs. If you dont like it get back to old Skyrim. In my case the performance is sublime (better than Oldrim)

and the game looks miles better (if you dont take into account ENB's for now of course.) I'm talking 1080p fluctuating fps in Oldrim, to 2700x1500 60fps, ultra details TAA enabled, plenty of HD mods in the SE. Of course on Windows 10 thanks to DX11 I also have access to my whole 8Gb of VRAM. Managed to hit 4.5Gb used already.

lol! The game looks and runs perfect and even better with a shader. Skyrim SE is the Alpha Male of Skyrim. The old SKyrim is dead now. Heck I don't even need mods to make my game stable cause it is xD haha! Never thought the battle of whiterun could run at a solid 60 fps.

I'm not a fan of the lighting, bloom and saturation at all. But it's just not the style i prefer is all. But the performance is excellent thus far and the graphics are a great upgrade for console users.

The main thing is i don't care for in the lighting or the shaders now. Especially on characters like faces there is a chromium like look to the way light moves across your characters face illuminating it oddly. Sort of like as if it's a sphere that has multiple light sources with not enough ambience in between creating hotspots and shadows that move across the surface i just don't like. (look at your characters face and move the camera all around and underneath you )

I also prefer a more ambient look that could be called "video gamey" and choose instead to use the textures and the right hues of color in lighting to create depth and "3dness" as opposed to lighting effects and or AO and attempting "realistic" shadows. There is a place for everything, but in Skyrim i just prefer this look better. Everything "pops" more imo. I figure a lot of people may not like it but i do. I guess an extreme example could be called the "blizzard" look. Not really, but that's the closest thing i could use to describe it.

Example, my lighting Vs SE and Vivid weathers. No Enb, just custom image spaces and ambient lighting.

Warning. I use a very low monitor brightness in a dark room ( for them blacks ) so under 120cd/m2 closer to 90cd/m2, which is probably half brightness of what some people are using, so if it looks hella bright, that is why. ( can't stand lcd glow ) But it is "brighter" in general than normal regardless. Nights are not pitch dark, as it's actually not realistic at all with a giant galaxy in the sky and a huge full moon. I go in my backyard and can play frisbee with the dog under a full moon and there are dark shadows from the trees on the ground, let alone with a giant galaxy + Aurora. And in the winter when it snows under a full moon it's very bright, and i live away from the city and ambient light. Still "realistic" is not the goal for me in my "fantasy" game, but visibility crispness and "pop".

My lighting and image spaces Old Skyrim ( Both Cot and Vivid horizon clouds in this one i think ) No ENB or custom shaders ect.

Vivid Default Settings

My lighting (Never mind the fog in the mountains behind, this was not a finished weather, but a reference as an ambient base point for snow days )

Vivid Night Default Settings ( get mild to extreme horizon and cloud gradation with Vivid nights sometimes, COT too, not sure about others. )

My Lighting . Which i call "Clarity" btw. It's bright yes, maybe too bright on some peoples monitors ( my low monitor brightness remember) and i toned nights down slightly since, but not much. Again, Giant Galaxy, Giant Full Moon, Reflective Snow, Full Starry Night. Props Cot clouds here. When they work, they work.

SE ( you can kind of see the unsavory effect i am talking about in SE in the shadows on this and in the hair. Lighting looks like chrome, for lack of a better description )

http://imgur.com/Ps9uHab.jpg

Custom lighting Old Skyrim. Textures pop. And it's like glamour lighting on your custom UNPBPBBSE7BBOOBIESLOOTS

When i tried to just swap my lighting in Se. It doesn't look right. It has that "Chrome" look to the lighting, which hopefully once the CK arrives will be able to remove. Or the shaders will need tweaking to achieve this look again. I thought i might just go back to OG Skyrim, but the performance is so much better now it's almost impossible to go back.

One last shot. Custom lighting and Image spaces. Tundra darkness levels with Aurora. In these i used the best of all clouds and fogs available out here and my own fog textures and clouds as well. Whatever works best in a scene. I have just been using the CK for about 2 months or so and getting used to how the alphas and stuff work in Beth games. I'm an Unreal Engine guy at heart.
