VictorSmith
Ok, so I was on the last quest for Independent Thievery, just before The Ultimate Heist quest for the thieves guild. I couldn't think of any towns that I hadn't already stolen from, so I decided to go to the Imperial City and just rob a couple of the stores to get it over with. Now usually when I steal from a store, they close down for a couple days, then reopen like nothing happen. Except this time, it looks like the store is closed for good, and the owner is constantly walking around the Market District with their fists up. Is there any way to return this back to normal? The store is A Fighting Chance, which is often used to buy mod armor and such. I'd use an older saved game, but it'd be WAY too far back and I don't feel like going through all that trouble again... madman132
Did you try to buy a normal Calm Spell? I think you may buy one at Bravil Church...
VictorSmith
I'll try that, but I'm not sure how much good it'll do. It's not like she's attacking anyone, she's just walking around aimlessly with her fists up...it's weird. I've tried waiting a couple days to see if it would return to normal, but it's no use. >_<
Aedaghna
Short of using the CS I'm not sure what you could do. It's a funny story though :)
VictorSmith
What exactly would I have to do in CS to put her back in the store and whatnot? Kinda new to the CS so I'm not exactly sure...
Aedaghna
I'd try putting some new items in her inventory first and see if she goes back to selling stuff. You can find tutorials on using the CS here. I'm no expert with the CS, but adding merchandise isn't hard at all. BUT, before you go that far. If you haven't tried it yet, I suggest waiting three days (at least) to see if she goes back to acting like a merchant automatically. (I got the impression you tried this already, but just thought I'd mention it.)
Obsessed117
I believe FCOM is doing this... sounds pretty cool though, as when you steal from a shop the whole display and everything STAY stolen unless its in a chest, they never replace it, which is stupid. There has yet to be a mod that respawns this stuff. Sound familiar?
Aedaghna
Vaguely. You might be right, I do remember reading something like that. I don't play thief characters often and haven't actually experienced it. If that's the case he could turn of FCOM, wait three days for the stuff to respawn and then turn FCOM back on... Try this: Put up the console... thats the tilde ` on the PC. Target the shop keeper, make sure he is targeted up at teh middle top of the screen. His name should be there. Type disable. A bunch of stuff reports. Then type Enable. I find this helps reset some bugged NPCs. If you are not comfortable with that, do as above, but rather then type disable, type Kill. Hit the tilde ` so console is closed. He dies. Open console with tilde ` again. He is still targeted, if not click his body. Type Resurrect. He will come back to life and he will have his AI path reset. I also do this on bugged mobs. It works to reset all vanilla NPCs but its hit and miss with some companion mods. arrestedkestrel
the comment above mine is a best way to work around it.if you accidently kill one simply open up your console with the tidle key [ ~ ] and then type in resurrect. this will bring the player back from the dead and they will return as normal . hope this helps
