Is there something wrong with Blacksmith enhancement gear?

I got myself a neat Necklace of Eminent Smithing (Weapons and Armors can be enhanced 20% better) and the Forgemaster's Fingers (12%). While my Armors show an increase in enhancement value, something weird happens with my weapons. Whenever I wear the two pieces of blacksmithing gear, the -base attack- of my weapons reduces automatically. Is this supposed to be happening?

 

For Eg. Say I have Chillrend (base attack 39, unrefined). I want to enhance it, so I wear my blacksmithing enhancement gear. From that point on, the base attack of Chillrend goes down from 39 to 32. Not just on the grindstone, in my inventory as well.

 

Is this an annoying bug, or is there some kind of game mechanic at play that I'm not getting?

 

 

Edit : Nevermind, I found out the problem. My Forgemaster's Fingers were replacing my Nightingale Gloves, thus losing the 20% attack bonus. Weird though, I didn't know that the 20% bonus was shown in the base attack of the weapon.
