Axisdeath
It may be odd, but i would love a chainsaw with my new anime armor set. i suppose it could be a two handed sword. but please no retexture.
JMMcNemo
I have to agree-- there's certain weapons you're supposed to use against certain monster types, and for the legions of the undead there's just no substitute for a chainsaw and a double barrel Boomstick. 'Lore friendly' be hanged-- If I go down, I wanna go down looking awesome. Hail to the King, baby. ^_^

Matth85
'Lore friendly' be hangedWhich is fair -- if you make your own models. The way I think, and a good portion of uss modellers: If I want to limit my models to fit for a TES game, I make it lore friendly. If I want to make a chainsaw, I make for myself. That way I can do what I want, how I want. Not limited by restrictions. There are 2 things to consider to get a small mod made: 1) Pictures. Requesting something is nice and dandy, but we are not going googling because you are lazy. 2) Lore friendly. The less lore friendly, the less the chance some good TES fan will make it. And let's face it: Most modders that can mod TES games good, are lore fans. The only exeption to this rule seem to be sexual mods -- though I do not know why that is so. What I recommend now: Get some pictures of what you want and how you want it. That will peak the interest faster. Secondly I recommend to wait a while before you request. The CK isn't out, and everybody want stuff made. A month after the CK is out, stuff will go faster and some modders might get time :) Cheers,Matth
JMMcNemo
I don't completely track your logic-- I mean yes, I get that people will make what they want, and doing something complicated like a chainsaw weapon with no compensation is low on anyone's priority list, etc., etc.; but I don't get: The way I think, and a good portion of uss modellers: If I want to limit my models to fit for a TES game, I make it lore friendly. If I want to make a chainsaw, I make for myself. That way I can do what I want, how I want. Not limited by restrictions. I'm not even sure you're talking about the same thing we are. We're saying, we'd like something that we think would be fun, although admittedly not lore friendly. Having it be lore friendly is not a priority, but cool value is. (Well, I'm saying it, anyway, I shouldn't speak for Axisdeath.) If you, as a mod maker, don't agree, that's fine, no biggie. Eventually someone *will* agree with us and everything will be sunshine and lollipops. And chainsaws. "Lore-friendly be hanged" is a knee-jerk reaction to the knee-jerk reaction I've seen to various mods over the years, when folks have published mods that were silly, or anime style, or weird, or whatever, and others have shot them down for the crime of not fitting in to the game. Myself, I don't care. I want to have fun playing, and if "fun" means dressing like Samurai Jack or having Scooby Doo as a dog follower, then yay for me. If there's a mod I don't want to use, I don't use it. Simple as that.
Matth85
I'm not even sure you're talking about the same thing we are. We're saying, we'd like something that we think would be fun, although admittedly not lore friendly. Ok: TES game uses a static game engine. We are limited to a certain polycount. We are limited to a certain texture size.We are limited to certain maps.We are restricted a LOT. If you want to make a chainsaw, it is not lore friendly. Thus I, using me as an example, would not go through the work of making it fit these restriction -- when I could make it for myself, getting a perfect model and render it perfectly. I gain more from that, than I gain from breaking up my work to fit the static engine. Eventually someone *will* agree with us and everything will be sunshine and lollipops. And chainsawsPerhaps. That was not my point. My point was: More modders do lore-friendly and adult mods, not lolipop chainsaw mods. Thus it would take longer for anybody to make it. I was simply explaning that point. "Lore-friendly be hanged" is a knee-jerk reaction to the knee-jerk reaction I've seen to various mods over the years, when folks have published mods that were silly, or anime style, or weird, or whatever, and others have shot them down for the crime of not fitting in to the gameWhich was my first comment. They make it themself, or get a friend to do it. Random people are busy, and priority lore friendly and generally things they are interested in. As of now, modders want more game-stuff and fix problems in the game, not the "fun" stuff. Myself, I don't care. I want to have fun playing, and if "fun" means dressing like Samurai Jack or having Scooby Doo as a dog follower, then yay for me. If there's a mod I don't want to use, I don't use it. Simple as that. Which is fine. My point was, as explained, that there will be less people that would do this. There are enough 'serious' mod wishes out there that nobody will do. I am not trying to come out as offensive, merely explaining that chances are this will not be done -- unless luck is on your side! JMMcNemo
This is completely not worth the energy either of us is putting into it. I'm gonna go back to my original statement, that I agree that a chainsaw weapon would indeed be fun, and stop talking. It's all I really intended to say in the first place. Matth85
By all means, I am not forcing you to spend energy replying to me. I've gotten my point over twice, and I believe you've gotten it twice. I never disagreed that it would be fun, I only dropped the ball saying it would likely not be done, since it is not lore friendly.
Axisdeath
wow, i almost feel guilty for not replying sooner. lol. Though i see both of your paints, and and agree to both. while its good to have a little fun her and there with none lore friendly, its also fun to really get in depth with RP. Ex: Right now im RPing as a pure good cleric warrior who uses one handed sword and will switch from shield to healing, but she also has a split personality disorder and when she equips her warscythe(this weapon actually looks lore friendly, and is very fun to use.) she turns into a murdering demon, thank god she knows of this and only does that when its required, like a critical situation type thing. but, when shes her good self she also struggles a lot with money so will do just about anything for cash. You have to admit, that is some serious in depth RP, but i can not lie. Every once in a while i get the image of a female character, in a very sexy maids outfit, riding a dragon, with a chainsaw strapped to her back. lore friendly? not even close. Fun? hell yeah. of course, these would be two different saves. And honestly, i didnt expect anyone to make one just because i asked, BUT i have planted the thought. so maybe another modder will see this and think nothing of it, but when months have passed and their main project is all said and done, that seed of an idea might just draw its first breath of air into warm sunlight, and blossom into a bright red blood rose, with thorns like a chain saw. im just planting the seed.
