yup I can (or someone els who knows 3dmax) mabey do that with every character exept for ghosts and non human like creatures I think...If there is a whole mesh file of the creature it's possible. I wanted to try and make a demora but I haven't found the mesh yet...but it's splitting the body up in several peices :) and export them as new and unique bodyparts...I haven't tried it but I think it's possible...

I found somthing about higharchy or somthing you must asign to the mesh's to get them where you want probaly those cordinates x,y,z or somthing, getting closer.

I found that glowing texture tutor also, cool very usfull.

There is a way to morph the PC into any creature I read somwhere. even a cliff racer if your feeling anoying. I haven't seen it yet though.

well it may be possible but a cliff racer hasn't got any legs and I think that you are a bit to big to fly through small hallways...so I don't think that would be a good idea..for the other creatures I think that it is possible that you can play that speicie as your character...as long as it got 2 arms, legs a head and the rest of the normal bodyparts (even a tail) it would be possible....I think it would be quite cool if I was a demora :D ...but about the hierarchy you have to select pivot...then affect pivot only and then Align to world I thought...mabey you should have to try that mabey it helps... :)

I'll try that.

Now I'm having a texturing problem. I have used several mesh's to make a chest model and everytime I go to materials to add a texture to it (with the TES shader) it only textures the original mesh. I click on the assighn to all selected button but it don't work right. I tried grouping all the mesh's but that makes no differance. I am about to try that site also why didn't they think of this when they made 3DsMax? jeez for a couple thousand dollars you would think they would have.

search @ google for Niftexture it's a good program for texturing you nif files...if you texture your nif first and import it to 3d max you can still modify the property's...btw is it true that you can't add a speculair glow to a texture because tcs gives me a error when I import a file with a spc glow <_<

edit: btw have you found the right position for the head and such???

No I haven't had time to mess with the heirarchy yet got to deal with this texture problem. I have a niftexture tool but it only textures the origanial mesh and the other ones are white, WTF!?

hmm owk what do you mean with the original mesh??? the mesh doesn't have to be original...and it also doesn't have to be a regrouped thing...but mabey try to regroup it>export it as a nif file>import it with the nif texture>save it>and import it again with 3d max...or mabey you need to change the uv map or something?? Or If you want to you can mail me the 3ds file or nif file and I'll take a look @ it ??
