Character Height

There's a console command: player.setscale ## replace ## with any number between 0.1 and 10, where .1 is the smallest and 10 is ginormous, and not recommended for indoors. 1.0 is the general default, but Nords are something like 1.1 and Bretons are like .8, I think.... at least it's in that area in Oblivion.

I like to consider 1.5 the practical maximum, and I find it fun to look down on everyone literally... but it can bring some impracticalities.... the bigger you get, the harder it is to activate things like switches, and the smaller you are in some of the games means being weaker as well.

As far as I know, there's never been a mod to play with this because the console command was so easy to make work. No reason for there NOT to be one, though... although if there WAS gonna be one, it'd probably be attached to the setrace menu-- which would ALSO be gotten at through the console if you're messing with it after the beginning of the game, so using setscale would STILL actually be easier.

Is there any mod that can change the character height to match with other NPC's in Skyrim?

Or perhaps even a slider to add into the race menu to change the character's height?

Your characters height does match with NPCs of a similar race and gender. The only reason you appear to be shorter is because in 1st person, you are viewing from the characters eyes, not the top of their head.

@ Eletricjudge I've seen my character's height in 3rd person view compared to other NPC's as a Imperial to Nords. I am certainly shorter, it could just be the race difference but I find that highly implausible.

Thanks everyone, I'll try the console command once I get onto Skyrim, it just seems a bit odd to be the shortest one in SKKYRIM. :P

Races do have different heights. For instance, Bretons are considerably shorter than Nords.

 *Nod Nod*

I rather like this detail, and for my money would happily exaggerate it more, within the bounds of plausibility. I think I saw there's a total of ten races (I think the Draugh count as one of those races) in vanilla Skyrim, and I find it unlikely that they'd *all* be same height, same build, same roundedness/angularity, etc...

There is a mod that changes the race heights and makes men taller than women etc. ...also there is a mod that increases your characters first person view height ( just tipe in "height" into skyrim nexus search and you will find them)....very usefull mods ..for example after watching hellsing i wanted to create a vampire imperial character like Alucard who stands at approx. 6'6 (198cm) which of course didnt quite work out for me in that aspect since Imperials aint that tall lol.... however using the console and the above mentioned first person mod it worked out ^^

also: if anyone wonders how tall skyrim characters would be in cm ...if we compare their "races" to our worldwide ethnicities then male Nords would be germany/finland/norway and thus 5'10-6' height in average (178cm to 183)...bretons/ redguards/ imperials /argonians 2 inches (5cm) shorter than nords and high elves 2.5 inches (6cm) taller ...dark elves&wood elves being the shortest at around 5'5- 5'7 ( 165cm -170cm) basically asian average height ^^...........so if we take a nord character who is in the 5'11 (180cm) area according to the average and change his scale from 1 to 1.1 via the console, then we increase his height by 10% which is about 18cm and thus 6'6 (198cm ).....hehe nice isnt it^^

phuu.... i reeeeally play too much skyrim xDD
