How do i create a replacer?

ive been searching around a bit and so far i havent found what im looking for, basically is it possible to take a mod such as

and to make it a replacer instead? for example im not a fan of the nightingale blade how would i use these models and textures to replace that? can it be done? there are loads of good weapon/armor skins where i feel this sort of thing would be great.

Simply copy the nif file of the sword you like to ...data\meshes\weapons\nightingale\nightingalesword.nif

 

Of course you need to keep the rest of mod so the textures are in place.

You don't need to open. Extract it from the Skyrim - meshes.bsa with the FO3 Archive Utility

You change it by overwriting the file you don't like. So this nightingalesword contains the nif of the sword you like.
