xlr8films
Wait wait wait... Morvarth IS the guy who wrote the book? The Vampire priest that Morvarth visits and 20 questions is the author of Immortal Blood. The town guard had to carry torches to make their rounds; but the man who came to call at my chapel carried no light with him. I came to learn that Movarth Piquine could see in the dark almost as well as the light - an excellent talent, considering his interests were exclusively nocturnal. bpestilence
Yes, Morvarth Piquine has a backstory, and nobody really know who the vampire priest was. Perhaps the original owner of Deepscorn Hollow? The point being, the same book that describes these really cool Skyrim vampires also alludes to the fact that they were exterminated. As for the other questions about vampires, such as why do they not take damage in the sunlight? It could be one of two things. Either the sunlight in Skyrim is less damaging than in Morrowind or Cyrodill (plausible since it is a northern latitude) or Morvarth himself has a strong resistance to sunlight and passed this trait onto all the other Skyrim vampires, which are his kin. It would make sense that Morkarth is more human-like as a vampire since he was very vampire-like as a human.
TimF
Vampirism doesn't suck... but it synergizes solely with assassin/illusionist.
xlr8films
My character now (2nd playthrough for me) is at blood-starved stage 4 and I'm having a blast roaming the world with him. If I encounter something using fire, I have an amulet and a ring that all reduce fire (to 0% dmg, which really is only 85% in the game) and I only feed when I absolutely HAVE to enter a city. It's all in how you roll with it.
