Filepath for unmodded textures: Archive or leave alone?

I'm not sure what is the most efficient way to do this, or if it even makes any difference. Say I'm doing a retexture, in which the only thing I change is a diffuse map. Is it better to extract and assign the unmodded normal map to the mesh, along with the modded diffuse, so they are archived together? Or, am I better off leaving anything unmodded for the game to find in its own way, even if it has to find the mesh and diffuse in my archive, and the normal in a game archive? I kind of feel like having to look two different places would be more of a burden, but I don't know the mechanics well enough to be sure . Does it even matter?

Hi. The game would be perfectly fine if you don't include the original normal map in your archive. But there is a chance that another mod would overwrite the original normal map with a completely different one. It will ruin the look, imho. That could be a good reason to just include the original normal map, just to be sure. :thumbsup:
