Help! Skyrim Mods Not Working.

Hi I'm also new to the forum and I have a similar problem.

I'm using Skyrim v1.8.151.0 and SKSE v1.6.5 on Windows XP SP3. And I downloaded many different mods for example the Slot Machine, Dragoon, Craftable Arrows and Lockpicks, Newermind Bow Collection, TK Combat, Willow Creek Cottage, Beautiful Cities and etc. But when I start the game non of them are active. When I download a mod the only thing I do is place the files in their specified place. Can you tell my if I'm missing something, because I read that they should be activated by NMM or Data Files, but I don't have a clue what NMM is :) and I don't have access to Data Files? HEEEEELP!!!

First, It's generally recommended to make a new thread for your specific issue.

Second, find your Skyrimprefs.ini located at \My Documents\My Games\Skyrim\ and add or alter the following line under the [Launcher] section:

bEnableFileSelection=1

This will fix the greyed out Data Files option of the Skyrim Launcher (though I'd recommend to never click it anyways) and could prevent other issues from popping up in the future.

Third, NMM is Nexus Mod Manager and is available for download here.

Most mods come with a (or multiple) .esp plugins and/or .esm master plugins. In order for these mods to function correctly, they must be activated by checking them off in a mod manager of some kind.

Some mods simply replace existing meshes/textures/sounds/animations and do not need a plugin. These should function properly simply by copying the correct folder(s) to the \Skyrim\Data\ directory. Some of these are quite complex however and it's generally recommended to install them via a mod manager with support for scripted installs (NMM for example).

I'm getting the same issue the scripts for all my mods will working ei hot key mods will stop recognizing key strokes, picklocking mods will stop doing there job. And theya ll stop at once so I think it has to do with SkSe
