Can't delete a mod

Ok. I wanted to delete the old version of Val's Crafting Meltdown that is the version that keeps making NMM crash. However, it keeps telling me that it is being used in Skyrim when nothing but the folder it is in is open because I'm trying to delete it. I can't move it either.

Also when I try to install the new version it tells me I do not have permission. So what am I missing?

Try completely shutting down Steam and deleting the mod using File Manager. You may need to do CTRL+ALT+DELETE and go to Task Manager and shut down the Steam application or processes.

Windows Vista / Windows 7 is paranoid about security. You will need to do things like run the program as administrator, and repeatedly answer "Yes" to all those annoying "Are you sure?" boxes.

Mod Manager won't delete it either, it just crashes, I reopen it and it is still there.

Found a solution.

Temporarily diasbled AVG so I could log into Nexus via Nexus Mod Manager. Downloaded the new version of Crafting Meltdown with the mod manager. Restarted my machine then reopened Mod Manager and Activated the new one.

I'll have to go back to trying to get the old version deleted later. Although, I wonder. (checks to see if it will delete now that the new one is active.)

Edit. *does a victory dance* that worked. Problem Solved.

David, I owe you one for that. I don't think That would have happened had I not read your reply.
