It'd be nice if there were some sort of individual who you can pay a premium to and they'll find whatever you need.

 

F: What can I do for you?

P: I understand you're a man who knows how to get things

F: I've been known to. What sort of thing are you looking for?

P: I'm looking for a type of ingot (or soul gem, alchemy ingredient, gem etc)

F: What type?

P: Ebony

F: And how many do you need?

P: Five.

F: Very well then. There will be expenses, and I'll need a few days to track down what you need.

P: Of course. (pays x2.5 regular price)

 

Then the player returns in 3 days and receives the 5 ebony ingots they requested.
