Illusion Spells

Going to start an illusionist type mage. Wondering how the perks that add effectiveness are applied, along if the spell was dual cast.

So say you are lvl 10 with Animage and Kindred and cast Fury. How would it be calculated? And if dual'd?

What else would compliment an illusionist? Would Conjuration be good? I hear it can be broken once you get all the higher lvl summons.

I have no clue what the calcs are but I can tell you that I use only illusion for magic with my breton archer and it is absolutely amazing. One tip, which you probably already know is to just level up your spells if you see them not working. this is all I did and I think going through the game I may have had under ten fails after adjusting my spells as far as I could at that time. make sure you have dual cast as it heightens the ablitly of your spells (and yes, at some point Lydia will out-level your 'courage" type spells and thereby resist it :P). My char has the master lvl spells now and I RARELY use them because the casting time is dumpty. A good dual-cast Adept spell works just fine 99.9% of the time.

I am not using a merc on this one. What would you recommend for doing damage on the ones i cant affect yet, or is only one of them?

I started using bound sword and i think i gimped myself by taking the soul trap perk for it as i am filling way too many petty souls that my better gems are getting filled with crappy ones. Wish it wouldn't do that :(

I play on master without a companion.

I took up illusion around lvl 10, i just wanted the invisible spell. I had around 40-50 in conjuration and destruction, now i have 100 illusion and 50-60 in conjuration and destruction, thats how fun and effective illusion is.

I am now around lvl 25 and i have no problem killing dragons or other "bosses", storm atronach for mages and frost for others while i nuke away seems to do the trick. You need mana potions or Highborn as an high elf for those long fights. Also be careful with undead and dwemer ruins until you reach 90 to get Master of the mind.

illusion spell is quite fun to play with but even as you have 100 illusion there are some enemies you just can`t charm , experienced this during my mehrunzes quest when i go invisible and casted mayhem on high level forsworn btw mayhem is a master spell and i am at 100 illusion with maxed perks btw so its not always 100% successful when trying to charm Edited by spets21
