This time back you were careful not to flame as bad as you used to. You were careful not to sound like you used to.

I have ferreted out people who were banned off irc networks and other boards many times. However, when ever I found people doing what your doing, they tried real hard to sound different.

Unfortunately, they still would slip up and use catch phrases or show the same interests.

"Straw man" is the formal name of a logical fallacy, and has been around for far longer than the entire history of this forum.

 

"Concession accepted" is a phrase I borrowed from another forum, I make no claim on having invented it. Given the large membership, and the high chance of other people borrowing it for other forums, I suspect Peregrine probably did the same.

 

 

But like I said, look at the differences. Even people who liked Peregrine say I'm just a bad clone.... surely if I was Peregrine reborn, I would try to be better than my old self? Or just compare religion... judging by what I've seen/heard of him, Peregrine was a notorious atheist. Wasn't he banned for that? I, on the other hand am not. While my exact beliefs are none of your business (I will not start a debate over them), you may notice that I have emphasized, multiple times, that I am not attacking religion, and religion and evolution are perfectly compatable. Would Peregrine do the same?

 

 

 

But really, enough of this. If I really am Peregrine, a moderator will show up with the IP logs and ban me, so you don't need to worry about it. Otherwise, I would appreciate it if you would stop comparing me to this guy, especially since most of you are making an unfavorable comparison. I would like to have a reputation of my own, not just as being some poor imitation of your beloved Peregrine. If you like the guy so much and think I don't live up to his name, tell Dark0ne to un-ban him so I don't have to listen to it anymore.

See, you know the differences between when you posted as Peregrine and now. You were aware of what you had to change. I guess that is Concession accepted.

I take it seriously enough to argue about it all the time, and end up getting myself banned for it. But now, when I decide to come back, I pick this position to use as my cover story? I take the one issue I cared about most, and argue the opposite side? Wouldn't it make more sense for me to pick something a bit less important to Peregrine? Like say MMORPGs... I could dig up one of Peregrine's old posts on EVE (you say he liked it), and flame myself for refusing to accept the clear superiority of WoW. After all, why bother coming back if I'm not going to argue my favorite subjects?

If I was really Peregrine, someone Dark0ne clearly did not like, don't you think he would've figured out the obvious and just banned me? Seeing as his last words on the subject were "The air has been a lot clearer since Peregrine stopped posting. I like clear air. 'Nuff said.", I would think Dark0ne would be very eager to ban a returning Peregrine.

Right, Dark0ne is such a busy man, but he'll personally issue the strike, and answer my PM about one of the debate threads (which you claim are such clear proof of who I am). He is clearly aware of my presence here. And he very clearly does not like Peregrine, or want him back. If he actually suspects that I am Peregrine Mk. II, I think he would have a little Ban Peregrine party in celebration.

 

On the other hand, if you're right and he does think I'm Peregrine, the fact that he hasn't banned me says he is allowing Peregrine to return. Either I am Peregrine, and I am allowed to be here, or I am not Peregrine, and I am allowed to be here. Either way you are only succeeding in annoying me.

 

 

So, since I've seen at least one moderator reading this thread (who has easy access to IP logs, etc), and Dark0ne himself has been made perfectly aware of my presence, please just drop this. I'm tired of being compared to Peregrine, especially when the general opinion seems to be "this guy sucks, bring back Peregrine!". I do not want his reputation covering up everything I do here.
