Breakable Equipment

I read the whole thread. I know what you're saying and I know what Sagenth is saying. But your proposed probabilities are outlandish. Like Sagenth said, 25% chance of breaking means that if I hit something merely 4 times, there is almost a certain chance that my weapon will break. I understand that that is when the weapon reaches 0% integrity, but that's still too high. No weapon would ever become that brittle. The only thing that could do that would be oxidation, which isn't something that happens from constant use.

Oh. Oh. I love to betray new found friends!!

You are wrong!!!!

Dip a metal rod into some liquid nitrogen and bang it against a metal block.. It will almost certainly shatter. That is how some criminals break into houses by freezing the lock and smashing it with a hammer.

That actually brings up an excellent point to add to the discussion here. Frost magic should increase the chance of it breaking while decreasing the speed at which it degrades where fire magic would do the complete opposite of that.

trickle, you should just update the OP already to show us exactly what you've taken to heart. The OP should act as the blueprints
