Zzed962
There seems to be a lot of people with the same problem, i have to say that i am NOT a fan of Steam, and i think that this is where the problem comes from. After an update yesterday, all these problems came to the fore, Black textures on NPC's, not being able to enter or leave area's without a crash, and fastravel is definitley out of the question. I have re-installed twice now and shut off most of the mods(especially Hi-Res textures). I should also say that i have played this game for a week now with a whole bunch of mods that i probably should have researched a bit more than i did, as they are not compatible, and only yesterday did i have a problem. NOTE: I run temperature software for my GPU's and i notice that the game only uses 1 card as #1 heats up while #2 sits at idle. The last time i ran Skyrim, i get 30 seconds before i crash to desktop Zzed

Vanilladafunk
Here is a possible solution I just tried out today. Normally, I couldn't use any texture mods, or the game would crash. That, or I would have missing textures. But this -http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4192- caused Skyrim to run like a charm, and I can now use all the mods I want, and Skyrim is gorgeous. Hope this works for you to mate :).
