What is the best Companion MOD

well... Dremora companion is especially nice. Big quests and a new home.

However... Symiaz's works "Ruined-tail's tale" and Tears of the Fiend... they are simply too awesome to miss. I am playing them both, and in confront to Dremora companion (which has a Han-solo like companion, easy to laughter and jokes) Ruined-tail is FAR more complex and lyric, it gives you deep tought and some moments are simply TOO touching to skip. Pure genius. I won't post them for ruining your fun.

so... you can potentially have them all. you choose.

I like the sonja one. Not the other one but the one that makes Red Sonja look like Frank Thorne's artwork, the one that uses the Soya hair.

I like it because the AI is good. I have used tons of other companions like Valaria... they all hit me in the back, they all almost kill me rather then the mob because their AI pays little attention to my tactics.

With Sonja, its either my imagination or the dude scripted some cool stuff. She actually backs up in melee and charges back in. Repeatedly and this gives me room to shoot an arror and not hit her. When I am melee, and she is ranged, she holds fire until she has a clear shot. Like I said I dont know if this is my imagination but its how it feels to me.

I have fought with other companions and after the fights had arrows in my inventory that where not there before and we were not fighting archers. So my companion had shot me... like 8 times! And of course spell casting companions... geesh.. they fry my face off in their zeal to get the killing shot!

I like sonja because her combat AI is very very good. Almost as good as if I were playing with another human controling her.

Of course one really funny time I was using Valaria and Sonja. Valeria was a sneaky ranger type and Sonja my Melee while I was more a paladin type. We were in the bar in Cheydinhal and Valeria steals something. A guard comes agroing on, not on me but on Valeria who stands there like "what I do?" Sonja suddenly goes after the guard, kills him. The innkeeper yells "Help! Murder!" and sonja turns and just cuts her down!! She sheathes her sword and walks back over to me.

This would have been really funny had I not been the Divine Crusader. It kinda killed my roleplay so I had to dismiss my companions, but the scripting and the way it went down was so believable. Sonja basically killed the witness just like any good brigand would.

"The Romancing of Ejya" is, in my Opinion, a essential Mod for those who like the Skingrad house.

The Servant Eyja is pretty useless in the Vanilla Version, shes just walking around, doing nothing.

In this Mod, Eyja gets custom Animatios for Scrubbing the Floor. In the Servants Quarter is a Cubboard, which has been upgraded a little, so that Eyja may wear a special Attire for every Weekday, for the night, for Swimming (she likes to get wet in the new cellar Swimming Pool in the Morning) and for "special" Occasions...

When you open the Cubboard, you are prompet which "Occasionchest" you want to open, to put Stuff in or out. Theres an Extra Inventory to fill for every Weekday. Eyja will wear a cute Maiden Attire most of the time, you can put that out of the "Monday part" of the Cubboard and she will run around naked. You can put stuff in there which she will wear then. She will wear anything, Archmage Robe, Necromancer Robe, Huntsman Vest (Yay :)), even Armor. And Swords =)

Eyja likes light Armor and Swords, Bows arent her favorite.

When she runs into trouble, she will use scrolls and Potions in her Inventory. Sometimes, which is quite rare for an AI, she uses the Stuff in an logical order, like firing a Spell at an Opponent from a Distance before charging in.

Theres a nice Quest where you can fall in Love with her. If she falls for you, you can take her where ever you want. She is marked essential and has some fight in her =)

If you take her out sometimes, i would recommend putting some Armor and Weapons in her Cubboard for everyday. She wont change if asked to come with you, so if you didnt put anything in her cubboard she will run around naked, and will hit ground very easily. And often, as i said, shes essential.

And, its quite funny to put her in full Glass armor with a daedric Sword and watch her scrubbing the Floor =)

Befor i forget to mention it, Eyja is a duping maschine: Beginning at around 11 am, she will have a shop icon in her dialogue. You can buy anything shes wearing, without her de-equipping it.

For Instance, if you put a "Fin Gleam" Helmt in her Inventory for Mondays, she can sell it to you at a Monday. You can buy this Helmet now and put in in her cuppoard for Tuesday, so you can buy it the next day and put it in her cubboard for Wednesday...

Without the Mod, Eyja is pretty much useless. Walking around, doing nothing.

For those who like the Skingrad house, "Romancing of Eyja" is a must have. For all others, Eyja is a nice Companion with changable Attire.

Theres another Companion Mod i like very much. "Toaster says share" is quite good.

You can do a little quest to get four "Generals" for your little army. These Generals are marked esential.

There are Spells to order them around. They can just follow you or wait at any given Location, where they will walk around a bit, talking to people. You can order them to remain at this exact Spot, if you dont want them to wander around. You can have them go to certain Locations, like the Inns. You may have them remeber the Location where they are now, so you can order them to follow you just to have them return later to the exact Location where you once "parked" them.

You can change their Equipment with another Spell. Its an "on touh" Spell which will open their Inventory like a Container. You can put Stuff in there, wich will be worn and used in Combat.

Getting Stuff out of the Inventory of NPCs this way doesnt count as stealing.

Before you give them Stuff to fight with, you may want to use another Option, triggered with the "Companion Order" Spell: "Give Stas" will give you the Stats of the Character. You may want to give Characters with a higher Light Armour Skill a set ov Glass Armour rather then Daedric Plate.

Or a Mace instead of a Sword.

You can order your Companion to Harvest the Area and he will get you Ingredients from the Vincinity Area. That Stuff will appear in his inventory when you use the Share Spell on him.

And, heres the Kicker: You can recruit people. Any NPC with a disposition over 80 can be recruitet. You can order everyone around, you may have an Imperial Legion defending Bruma. Wearing full daedric Plate, if you want to.

You can have every single City Guard wearing good armour, like a fullset Glass armor, as the City guards have a higher light armor skill. Except some Skingrad Guards, they wear Steel Boots, Pants and Gauntlets. o_O

You can have Beggars wearing the most expensive gear which you can possibly imagine.

I have a Beggar in the Market Discrict wearing a ridicoulos amount of Gold worth of Gear. Best Scrolls you can think of, heavily enchanted Armor, some soulgems to keep the Sword charged.

She is still walking around saying: "Spare a Coin for the infirm?" :D

With my very high Personality, im everybody Darling, so NPCs most likely have the 80+ Disposition required to recruit them.

I used the Share Spell on Mankar Car Moron, or whats his Name, and got his Robe, Staff and the Amulet of Kings off him. So now he tried to fight me bare handed, which was even less a challenge than it is the normal way.
