Deleted638677User
I know this has probably been done before, and its kinda annoying me, they put these places on the map but no update to unlock them, and I have looked through most of the mods and they don't add these places or atleast make it open land, I for one would love to walk back in time to morrowind or maybe take a trip to elswyr I just kinda find it amazing no one has taken on the job or project to make these places open to us, it would be a great undertaking and I would be grateful to have these places opened up, new quests and dungeons, new people and places it would be awesome and i'm also wondering why this hasn't been discussed more? Abramul
Tamriel Rebuilt is currently doing Hammerfell for Oblivion. Silgrad Tower is doing part of the Redoran section of Morrowind's mainland.
Obsessed117
Morroblivion says hi... Just so you know, these places would have as much content as cyrodill so it would have to be an official expansion or a whole new game for these areas to be available. Deleted638677User
it wouldn't have to be an official expansion, someone with a lot of time and a love for the game could do it, if they so felt like it, granted they would have to be maybe several people working together, and have to be decent modders to do this, but you would have to admit that would be something that would refreash the game and give something new to it, and I agree the the morroblivion but I think they should entigrate the games together, that would be one big game but you would have to admit you would probably never run out of things to do, unless your some hardcore gamer :whistling:
GenghisKhanIT
Blade, I assume it could be possible, but it is really not easy to find someone that would do for free the same amount of work that BethSoft programmers do being paid. Modders have a life out of Tamriel, too...
Deleted638677User
i'm just saying, some people would actually do it for free, but they wouldn't do all the work themselves, plus I bet more than one person is kinda pissed that they didn't add those places in there with the original launch of the game, kinda seems pointless to actually put the places on the map and reference them in the game, and not allow people to go there

Time to post the traditional thread for suggestions like this: http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=26095 The short form: adding an expansion like that is just a staggeringly huge amount of work to do. You're talking about easily as much content as Oblivion itself. Now, remember how many years Oblivion took to develop, with a team of professionals working on it as a full-time job. Even if you could somehow find people with all the necessary skills, it would take years to even come close to this kind of world size. Very few people have the motivation to keep a project going for that long, they're much more likely to work on smaller short-term projects where you can actually see some results before 2020. So that's why the only discussion of the idea you see is from people who just think "wow, that would be cool", it's just way too much work to take seriously. madman132
There are some Mods with places outside cyrodiil. You can switch off the Invisible Borders somewhere in the Oblivion.ini, but theres little use. Outside Cyrodill, there is some Generated Land, yes, but its just there so you wont have to look at a "Void" when you come near a Border. There is some Land to run around on, but its empty and quite boring. Walking into Morrowind gets you eventually to "the End of the World", where you even can fall of the Edge. But Wait: Just remebered a Trip to the North. I walked north of the Hermanus Mora shrine and some time after crossing the Border there is some lush and green Land. Empty and boring tough, but this would mean Hammerfell and Skyrim arent necesarily icy Wastes. The Snow on the Jerall Mountains isnts there because its far up North, its there becaus its supposed to be far up, period :D Well, realistic Climate is something different. The Jerall mountains just arent high enough to be higher than Snowfall border.Neither are they "north" enough, relatively to the IC which has a medium climate, or Blackwood wich would be suptropic, to have a Tundric or arctic climate... Glue
The reason the place names are on maps and are referenced in game is setting, background and lore which enriches the world you're in. You needn't have access to other times or spaces for them to affect you in yours. The basic answer to this though is as others have already said. This is a HUUUGE ask for any modder/modders no matter how much they love the Elder Scrolls. Even Bethesda can't do this stuff without leaving bugs and needing patches afterward so imagine the workload and problems for a few modders. Its like asking a Star Wars fan to do a seventh movie.I used to want to see more Morrowind in Oblivion too until i realised that I could actually just play Morrowind, it was already there, and that's better than any mod done yet. Deleted638677User
what I ment by a trip back in time isn't actually a trip back in time, I ment going to morrowind, now i'm just talking for conversation sake i'm not arguing my point much more because I can see the futality, but that is what I ment to be able to go back to house redoran or indoril and join them, sort of like another guild thing, although I am hoping that bethseda is going to be comming out with another elder scrolls because I love their games, they are really detailed, or atleast some more content to oblivion like maybe a new town with quests new weapons that sort of thing, and I know you have modders to do that and they do come up with some great stuff, its just I like the touch bethseda gives to it, if anyone can understand that
