Kodiak412
There was a great little mod that was only posted on the Steam Workshop years ago. What it did was allow the vanilla Necromancy spells to become much more useful throughout the entire game. The way it worked was to remove all the level limits on the vanilla spells and give them a time. For example the first Necro spell "Raise Zombie" would normally allow you to raise a very low level enemy. Great if you like to fight alongsind Skeevers but it sucks for the rest of us. This mod allowed the spell to work on any level enemy (up to 99) and would work for 300 seconds (5 Minutes). Kill a bandit in a bandit camp and you can raise this dead bandit to fight for you for a limited time. Then the Necroed bandit will either just die or get killed. This is perfect for players that like to travel alone but does not mind a little Necromancy to help every now and then. :) These "zombie" companions are not a pain in the ass and are limited. You can just kill them again yourself when your done wtih them. The next vanilla spell is Reanimate Corpse and this could last for 600 seconds. Each time a higher Necro spell is obtained the time the zombie will be your follower is increased. I found I just used the first one for 300 seconds and if I needed more I would just command a new zombie with that low level spell Raise Zombie. Unfortunately this mod author never posted this to the Nexus and abandoned this mod and never supported it. I hope someone can recreate this mod for their own and share it with the Nexus community. It really did address a play style that was severely underutilized. Thanks!

Why would you ever use the higher versions of the reanimation spells if you can just use the lowest level version? Not knocking it, just not seeing a point to making all those revisions if only one version of the spell will be used. Kodiak412
That would depend on how long you want the zombie to be a follower. The higher the level of spell, the longer the zombie will be your follower without the need to recast the spell. Some may only want the zombie for a short fight, but others may want a zombie to be a follower for the entire dungeon. That's the great thing with choice, you have many options and you pick the one that suits your play style, or your needs at that moment.
Fantafaust
My opinion on this is probably skewed because I play with a modified reanimation script that prevents them turning to ash when they die. Lol I suppose I can see the utility here, but the spell length seems a tad long. What if it was just double the standard spell times, but with no level restriction? That way you could still go for the conjuration perk that doubles reanimation length. Kodiak412
QUOTE: My opinion on this is probably skewed because I play with a modified reanimation script that prevents them turning to ash when they die. Lol LOL! That is great! Man if you could even double the length and prevent them from turning to ash, along with the level restrictions, that would be outstanding! The biggest thing to me was the level restrictions. Especially end game and if you use a mod that raises the enemy levels to your level, then the old Necro spells become worthless at about mid game. I do hope you post something like this as IMHO it would be a great addition to Skyrim SE and really would open up an under utilized play style. Thanks! Fantafaust
No problem, I actually have a personal mod that's similar to this in ways, since I had issues with high level enemies being immune too.It still has level progression, but it goes up much faster, and thrall brings the level cap all the way to 255.If that's reasonable, I could just edit the spell lengths. I might upload the whole mod though. I have been working on it for a good while, so it's got more than just those edits.Of course, it includes the script that prevents ash death. That is, unless you want them to turn to ash or if some enemy necromancer is repeatedly reviving bodies. I got the idea of placing garlic in their inventory to ash them from another mod. Then I have some custom spells as well, all that effect undead, like augment, command, conscript, and rebuke, all based on forcing undead to do your bidding or empowering them. Also healing spells that damage living but heal undead. All of these spells are new though, they don't replace any vanilla spells, so you'll probably need to merge your leveled lists to find them in loot chests and such.If you like I can make a version without those other spells, just the vanilla edits too.Let me know.Current level settings:Raise Zombie - 30Reanimate Corpse - 60Revenant: - 120Dread Zombie: - 240Dead Thrall: - 255 Edited November 9, 2016 by Fantafaust
Kodiak412
Man if you could do just the single spells that raise the levels and add a little time to them that would be outstanding. Also if they do not turn to ash that is great! If someone reuses your old zombie well that is just something you have to consider when you play the necro game. I hope you do post it and the levels that you have outlined on your post look good. If possible to add a little extra time to the zombie (maybe double or triple the original) that would make for a kick a$$ necro mod. It will be a Necromancers must have mod! Fantafaust
I keep delaying because I have this bad habit of finding little things to fix, and then I just keep finding more. Right now it's just that I need to add to the leveled lists the weapons I made in my Command Undead mod(that's the one I made first, where I already had those spell edits)I swear I'll upload it soon, I just get distracted easily lol
