LE MORE EFFICIENT GAMEPLAY

Dear amazing modders of Skyrim, hear my plea.

 

Skyrim is an incredible game, but it has oh-so-many annoying little things that bug me the hell out.

I really want to see some of these changes made to the game so that it is a lot more efficient and enjoyable.

 

 

1) BETTER HOTKEYS (for Potions among other things...)

 

So.. the hotkeys are absolutely terrible in this game. 8 hotkeys for everything?? c'mon.

And each of those hotkeys can only hold 1 kind of item/spell/power and not a set of them.

A lot of other requests have been about improving this aspect of the game, and I too am in full support of that.

 

But I wanna go a step further and talk about a hotkey function for the potions specifically.

I hate having to stop and change to restoration spells to heal while I'm hacking away at enemies with my warhammer.

I just wanna be able to spam '1' and use up my health potions to heal.

But the problem is, not all health potions can be grouped into 1 hotkey.

 

When I run out of Minor Healing Potions, I want the hotkey to automatically switch to the Lesser Healing Potions right away.

And when those run out, use the regular Healing Potions right away. Then the Extreme ones. Then the Ultimate ones.

Same goes for Magicka and Stamina restoring potions.

 

This would make the fights so much more fast-paced and exciting because you don't have to pause the game every time you wanna use some damn potions.

 

 

2) INSTANT ORE MINING

 

I couldn't find any thread mentioning this so I'll do it here.

It's pretty much self-explanatory really. The only reason I don't mine for ore is because I hate how slow the process is.

I want a mod that eliminates the whole animation altogether and have mining be like picking up an item.

Get close to an ore vein, press E, and voala! You've obtained 2 iron ores!

or perhaps more than just 2. maybe 4 or 6 would be better.

 

 

3) SATCHEL ON HORSES

 

I'm sorry but I really hate horses in this game. I don't get why anyone likes them.

Sure they can move slightly faster, but they're much harder to maneuver through difficult terrains.

Plus they're so freakin' annoying running into battles that they can't freakin' win.

But I might rethink throwing them off a cliff if they had at least SOME kind of usefulness.

 

Then it hit me. PORTABLE STORAGE.

Instead of going all the way back to your home to store precious items, you could just give the horse a satchel or a knapsack and have it be your item storage that follows you where ever you go!

This would save a lot of traveling time for sure. If somebody makes this mod, I will definitely start using horses more.

Also, it would be awesome if the satchel/knapsack is divided into different item categories like the player inventory for better organization.

 

One more thing, It'd be great to have an option of keeping the horse at a player-chosen stable in case the player is going somewhere they don't wanna take their horse with.

That way the horse stays safe until the player comes back and gets it. Fast traveling always makes the horse show up. This is really really irritating.

 

 

4) And Finally... As requested in many other threads... MULTIPLE SPOUSES.

 

Pimpin' ain't easy.

Please make a mod that does make it easy. lol

 

Also, they should have a dialogue option where you can ask them to come to bed with you.

Something like "I've been out hunting dragons all day. How bout a quickie before I wonder off again?"

...Or something less douchey...

I'd like the mining and chopping wood to be interactive you hit the ore/wood with the pickaxe/woodcutteraxe a few times and you get your resources. Realtime Settler for Fallout 3 had something similar if I remember,

As to the other ideas I agree entirely.
