Zynoq
I have made a normal map and put it in the same folder as my color map but when it shows up in the game it's invisible I read at the cs wiki that invisible body parts could have something to do with missing normal maps but i have a normal map, strange. Can anyone try to explain to me what might be wrong?
Sypron
You have to make sure that there are NO underscores in the filename or filepath for the files. The only underscore aloud is the one that comes before the 'n' in the normal map. so:Data/Textures/mytexture.ddsData/Textures/mytexture_n.ddsDon't do this:Data/Textures/my_texture.ddsData/Textures/my_texture_n.dds Also, make sure the normal map is the correct filetype, and also did you make the normal map properly or just copy the texture? Zynoq
I have made a normal map using GIMPS normal map plugin. What is the right file type anyway? And i forgot does it work if i just change the texture path in NIF skope?
Sypron
Sounds like the normal map is correct. I believe dds is the correct filetype for both normal and texture files.I don't know about changing it with nifskope, but my advice is the normal map has to be in the same directory as the texture. Oblivion searches for that file, then searches for the same file with the '_n' for the normal map.
