gigantibyte Posted December 20, 2011 Share Posted December 20, 2011 Just curious if anyone knows if the new CK or script extender will allow one to add custom properties to base objects? In a mod I made for Fallout 3, I wanted to add a Boolean property to trash piles to indicate whether they had been looted or not, but it was not possible with the tools I had at the time. The workaround was to use existing properties not used by the game - in my case, the Ownership property. It worked, but I was never really happy with the solution, and was disappointed that the ck did not give me the type of control I desired. For example, this will be a problem (unless there are new options) for anyone wishing to mod back weapons that degrade if the property doesn't already exist internally. 'Ownership' is used on weapons, so another irrelevant property (what?) would have to be found, that allows for values in a range of 0 to 100. Maybe we'll be lucky this time, and base objects will have a few extra properties for modder use. Opinions? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
