Request/Idea for a Time scale mod

Thought I'd post an idea here, this is a timescale mod I would like to use:

I have a rhythm going in Skyrim, where I usually travel back to town after a couple areas explored. Usually it's nighttime when I arrive in town. I let my character sleep for the well rested bonus, and then do some smithing and enchanting and trading in the morning.

Problem is by the time I'm done it's often late afternoon or even night. So I've got into a habit of using the console and type set timescale to 3 when I'm in town and then set it back to 20 when out and exploring.

A mod I would love to see would have a little clock icon showing next to the date in the bottom right when activating the menus (pressing TAB).

For simplicity's sake I would do it as a toggle switch. You'd click it to go to "slow" timescale, and click again to go back to the default.

But you could also have 3 or 4 steps to cycle through and have it show the value eg. " @ 3 [skyrim ingame date here]" ( @ representing the clock icon )

Optionally, you could have an editable setting in a file so each person can choose their timescale values that it cycles through.

And that's it.

The main point being:

* Easy to use

* Reminder: with the console I sometimes forget to set the value back to 20. Here everytime you go tothe menu you'd see the icon. If the value is non-default you'd see the icon looks different.

Thanks for reading!

Default timescale is 16, so if you are setting it to 20 you are speeding up the passage of time beyond what you had originally. I found a good balance by just setting it to 6 and leaving it there.

Aside from that, mod requests go in the request forum

Does slowing down the timescale miss with NPCs animations, or scripting at all?

I've not had anything not trigger properly, though I have heard of such happening if you set it to real time (1), which was also an issue bakc in FO3/NV and Oblivion. I don't recommend setting the time passage slower than 5 for the most part, but thats just my preference. The only time I temporarily set timescale to 1 is when I want to take more than one screenshot and not worry about light level changes or star field movement before I can get them all done.

Scripts and AI packages work with the time. So I can see there becoming complications if you alter with it. Using it too much could do some damage, somewhere, I guess. Though I doubt you would notice anything too fast.

Of course, this is all speculations from my side.

Ah sorry about that, I didn't see that forum. Can a moderator move the topic?

Are you sure it's 16? Every article I've found and the two timescale mods on SkyrimNexus say that 20 is the default. Also if you type "show timescale" in the console it says 20.

PS: Can't remember my sources but the most discussed thread I remember seemd to agree that 3 was the minimum to not break some quests. Something about Dragons not landing if you set it lower than 3.

As for my mod request I meant it to be only used while in town, to be on the safe side :)

It is also, concidentally, the reason why I would prefer a manual switch rather than using the existing "dynamic" timescale mods (which are otherwise a fine idea!).
