A18718
Seems like I bugged something out, my game was playing fine even with all the mods I've put on for Fallout 3 but now something has hit after about 40 hours of gameplay and I don't know what's up. Basically I can press "E" to talk to an NPC and the dialogue menu comes up but the NPCs are silent with their greeting. However if I choose any of the dialogue options they do respond to every option except for when I say something like "See you later" or "Bye". They end up going silent again. It's like if the transitions to enter and exit these dialogue menus are messed up as the NPCs don't say anything. Has anyone dealt with a similar issue? I tried older saves but they ended up messed up as well like this and I did not install new mods once I got past say 5 hours of the new game. It's up to 40 hours now and it's bugging the hell out of me. It's kind of why I stopped playing but the issue keeps coming around when I want to play again. Edit: Ok as a small update here's what I found out. It seems that if I loaded back to a save where a NPC approached me the conversation triggered just fine and the bug seemed to be gone. I spoke to a beggar outside Rivet City and the transition dialogue (the first sentence they say when you press "E" on them) was there but when I spoke to Crow who was nearby there was no transition dialogue but there was dialogue when I said "See you later" (or whatever that is). Tried it on a Rivet City guard and once again he was silent when I pressed "E" on him... Tried Arlington Library and Scribe Yearling and the BOS NPCs had no opening dialogue but the closing dialogue was there unless I clicked to go past it (obviously).
