Chicken importance in skyrim.

Chicken in Skyrim are tagged as 'valuable animal'. Certainly the NPC exclaimed: "Hey that is a valuable animal!" when you accidently sheathed your sword into one.

The consequence: A whole village turning berserk on you.

Moral of the Story: Never touch a chicken unless you plan to massarce the local populace... :wallbash:

Valuable animal? They know their stuff!

Thats right. Never attack a chicken. Attack a Jarl, but not a chicken.

*Nod Nod*

You only get an assault charge of 40 gold bounty for accidentally bumping the Jarl's head with a mace, but you incur the wrath of the local community for laying a hand on their chicken.

Well... I guess Jarls don't lay eggs like chicken so they are not as valuable... :wallbash:

What I really wish would happen is that you can't really defeat chickens, but rather if you hurt them enough they call their other chicken buddies and attack you with a swarm of angry chickens like in Zelda. That would be hilarious. :)

Chickens seem to be of very high importance. I had two encounters with bandits where I managed to sneak up on one of them and shoot him. The other guy went berserk on the nearest chicken, seemingly suspecting it to be the killer.

There's something seriously off with chickens and this game.

When you stumble across the

Chicken Brotherhood, the Elder Fouls will explain everything. I'm a Chicken Initiate now. Epic Chicken Polymorph ability...

Haha, in my silly attempt to rationalize the thoughts of the villagers (or maybe even the programmers) a chicken is the most valuable breed on a farm in terms of cost/production. It is the only animal in which you feed it a pound of feed and it produces a pound of food. All other animals are pretty much luxuries; A cow produces milk and can produce beef but the meat isn't worth as much as a chicken's, especially back in the days of farming like TES farmers where you scrape to get by.

That is really only true if you view the chicken's feces as food...

Otherwise chickens hold within them the secret to perpetual energy and have defeated entropy, in direct defiance of the laws that govern the very universe.
