Flam1ngDem0n
I have recently decided to get into the Skyrim modding business and all, and i was wanting to get a model of Alduin into 3ds max. Which i have successfully done but there is one part i am having trouble with.....getting the skeleton (or bone set) into 3ds max successfully. Every time i attempt to import the Skeleton into 3ds max it says to me "No objects found". This would mean that when i exported the Skeleton model from a program i found, that it is not properly exporting the bone set....or anything for that matter. My question is...how would i get the Dragon actor bone set into 3ds max so that i can use it to animate Alduin (or any dragon for that matter since all the dragon models or actors all use the same bone set for animating). If no one believes that i have successfully gotten Alduins model into 3ds max....that let me show you with some pictures and such. http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/3664/alduin1.png http://img805.imageshack.us/img805/5811/alduin2.png http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/4642/alduin3.png
jimhsu
Are you sure you have the correct skeleton.nif and "Import skeleton" checked under import options? Also, you might need to manually import it to begin with.

Also, you might need to manually import it to begin with.Well....what i am doing is i am using a program called Nifskope 1.1.0. I have tried to use the 3ds max 9 (32-bit) importer plugin but it always seems to tell me that "String it too long, Not a Nif format or is a unknown format" and that is what it seems to keep saying when i tired to open that skeleton model. I am thinking that (correct me if i am wrong) since Skyrim uses a newer game engine that the NIF files use a different setup or system. The only thing i can open in 3ds max is the solid meshes the i export from the program i mentioned above...but not the bone sets.
Flam1ngDem0n
Does anyone know how i can import the Dragon actors skeleton bone set model? Anyone know? If someone does know, then can you please let me know? I am trying to make a custom Dragon Skeleton bone set but it is not all the easy. Flam1ngDem0n
Are you using the 3.7.1 version of the 3ds max importer? http://niftools.sourceforge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3196&start=0#p21708 Thanks man! Was recently able to get back here and just went to the link you posted. Works like a charm! But one other question......is it possible yet to import animations? I mean for Skyrim models? Because if it is...that would be awesome. Please let me know when you can and let me know if i can import animations into 3ds max. I cannot seem to find a working HKX importer for 3ds max that will work with Skyrim models. Thanks for the help so far!

Ya....I was trying to figure that out. I do not understand most of what he is saying because he did not describe much about how to setup the folder structure system. I download both required files from Havok's website....but after that i am clueless what to do from there. Can you please describe more on what to do to get the models animations into 3ds max? At least more understandable? Thanks
