jbsheridan
Hello there, Something in my Skyrim is gradually changing the English Place names and the Quest names to German language. It started out in Whiterun and has now progressed to Falkreath. I did searches about this and only found a few references that did not help much. I have looked at my mod names and can't find the culprit. I tried using Jaxonz Rename, and I can change the name back to English but the setting does not hold. It is as if something is overwriting Jaxonz changes. 1. Does anyone know why this is happening? 2. Is there a way to globally over ride what is happening? 3. Is there any easy way to fix this. Beginning again from scratch is too overwhelming for me. Thank you.
zeebnorb
I'm having the same problem. Mostly with the inn names. I have a lot of companion mods and I'm pretty sure some of them are causing this problem, particularly the mods that come from a German or Japanese source. I think that because the mods were originally created in their respective languages through the creation kit they often have a tendency to bring certain things with them to the English version. I have one companion who was originally Russian that was put out in English. The mod itself works quite well and the companion talks in English in conversations but her idle remarks are mostly in Russian. There must be something in the creation kit that corrects this because not all of the mods do this. As to fixing the problem, I had to hunt the mod down by elimination (turning them off one at a time) to correct the problem. You could also search mod authors names\profiles to see where they hail from. If the mod is one of your favorites it makes it harder, you have to choose whether you want to turn it off or simply put up with the problem.
