Which mods are compatible?

Hey guys, i've waited untill yesterday to get into skyrim, because before, i had finals/school/ a lot of work, you know the deal ;-) So yesterday I installed the mod manager and downloaded about 25 mods, mostly for having better graphics (like the 2K textures, natural environment, realistic water). But skyrim crashes when i start it with all mods selected. When i select a few less, i can only play through the first mission (so when i want to get out of the dungeon when you're attacked by a dragon in the beginning). Obviously, i think some mods aren't compatible. E.g. I had a thunder mod on, but when the dragon shouted, my game crashed.

So my question is, is there a list somewhere of all the mods that i could apply at the same time to make my game look better? (because i'm used to textures like crysis 2 with dx11 and texture pack, yeah i know i'm spoiled).

Anyways, I appreciate your guys' help!

Oh and btw, my rig should be able to handle a fair amount of mods; I play battlefield 3 maxed out without any lag issues and i get about 22500 points in 3Dmark Vantage (performance).

Here are the specs:

Intel Core I5-2500K, OC'd @ 4.2 Ghz

Asus enGTX 570 DCII, not overclocked, but it has a great cooling system so theres room for at least a 10% OC.

8GB DDR3 RAM @ 1750 Mhz

This covers a lot more than just textures. As far as compatibility between texture replacers go, outside of instances where two mods both overwrite the same texture, they're all compatible with eachother. In cases where two mods do overwrite the same texture, the last one installed obviously takes effect. You can use this knowledge to manually pick and choose exactly which textures from which texture packs you'd like to have in your game.

Also, you may find Skyrim unplayable with your OC, due to frequent crashing with a large amount of high res textures. The game generally has issues with RAM (just like everything Bethesda's put out since Morrowind). The newest Steam update does include built-in LAA (which helps with the crashing a lot) so no need for the 4GB Skyrim mod (to my knowledge, 4GB Skyrim may make other enhancements to how Skyrim handles memory besides just adding the LAA flag) and your OC may or may not drastically affect overall stability of an already unstable game.

Thanks for your reply!

Appareantly, I didn't install the update from steam. But I did now :) About the OC, I've only OC'd my processor (I bought my RAM at 1750 MHz, geil enhance plus, you may know it), and i have never had any problems with it, i have good cooling. When i edit HD videos, it never gets above 50°C on full load. So I would be really surprised if that caused the crashes...

Anyways, I'll try out the new patch and everything now, hopefully it works just fine.

I have been adding mods to my game since there were mods available and I have been testing out different mods and making a Google Spreadsheet.

Obviously this works for me, and you can see my system in my SIG.

I'm trying to use the best mods (My opinion) and cut back on lots of mods when I can use one mod does it all (Easier to manage)

You can see a list of mods I'm using and mods I'm no longer using and a reason why.

I think since release I've had 6 crashes but only one texture mod caused it but that was due to the modders error in the files. The other crashes have been random and after trying different mods on/off I found it was not mod related. Since 3.1.10 ive not crashed.
