Oblivion Reloaded causing CTD

This is a really weird CTD that I just started getting today. Whenever I fight an NPC or enemy with a Steel Longsword, the game will crash after a random amount of time, but always before the enemy dies. This CTD does not occur when using fists or other weapons, and it seems to have effected all past save games as well. This CTD problem started when I entered the Sump of Misery in the Kvatch Oblivion Gate. I disabled all mods except for DLCs and Unofficial Patches and the CTD still occurs. I have narrowed it down to Oblivion Reloaded after disabling the .esp and removing the .dll and .ini files from the OBSE/Plugins folder, as the crash no longer occurs, although there is an odd animation error where the sword swing animation will randomly not play but i will still land hits. I have used LOOT to create a proper load order, but this resolved nothing. Any help that you could give would be appreciated, as I quite like Oblivion Reloaded and would like to keep using it. After the CTD was fixed the only change was the Oblivion Reloaded .esps were disabled and the Oblivion Reloaded .dll and .ini were removed from OBSE\Plugin folder. If there is any known issue with Oblivion Reloaded and this kind of CTD please let me know. Thank you!

 

Edit: After an amazing revelation I realized that the CTD was occuring becuase the sword was breaking mid fight. If there is some kind of conflict between Oblivion Reloaded and weapons breaking and if there is a workaround, please let me know!

Maybe you should post both of your ini (OblivionReloadedEsp.ini and OblivionReloaded.ini) for Oblivion Reloaded? Without more deeper knowledge about what you had enabled in OR when these problems started to happen there is not much enough information to compare with other that also have experienced similar problems.

 

Which Mod Manager do you have?

 

Don't forget to create a new clean save when you disable a plug in for your mods.

Soz 4 necropost but wanted to make sure people finding this in Google had an answer too.

 

If this problem with CTDs occurring on 'weapon-break' events happens, the settings to disable are EquipmentMode and (I think) CombatMode towards the top of the OblivionReloaded.ini
