MrGlitchez
(i posted this in general skyrim forums cause this was my first time using the forums and i was confused) so i recently modded my skyrim using nmm and today i thought i would restart skyrim and i decided i would just do vanilla but im having trouble going back to just vanilla skyrim. i have tried deleting the skyrim folder, deleting the nmm and nexus related stuff on my pc, and i have deleted all data files (minus dlc) from the skyrim launcher and theres still some mods on my character creation screen. on the side it says $cme_historyf and my character is doing a idle animation.i looked it up and tried a few of the suggestions but nothing happened and it just made me waste my time reinstalling skyrim. im not sure what to do and any help would help a lot. EDIT: whenever i remove a female npcs armor chestpiece the game crashes. i currently have no mods installed to my knowledge and as for dlcs i have all 3 installed Edited November 9, 2016 by MrGlitchez
snelss0
This is how you clean your skyrimhttps://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/906390-cleaning-skyrim-for-fresh-install/ If all that is done, then go into your skyrim/data folder and see if there are any mods lingering about. Also, make sure you test out Vanilla on a new skyrim game. Saved games "bake" mods into them, meaning that even if you delete or move them from where they were when you last saved your game, it can cause CTD or issues. If you are wanting to flip flop between Vanilla and Modded, do not use NMM, use Mod Organizer. Not only is it better in my opinion, but it lets you have profiles that you can easily switch to. Just have your default profile your vanilla game, and your modded game some other profile. Watch these videos: They go through many steps that you can understand easily. Generally, your load order (or install/overwrite order for NMM) should be something along these lines:SkyrimUpdateDawnguardHearthfireDragonbornUSLEEPSKSE Scripts (make sure these are properly installed and if you don't have it, you better get it)[Any mods that are utilities] (Bug fixes, safety load, better messagebox controls,...)[Custom Body Meshes][Custom Body Textures][All other ESPs][Animations][Custom Skeleton](Xp32mse,...)Alternate StartBashed Patch (If using Wrye Bash)Dual Sheath Patch (if Using it)RSPatch (Last almost always)If you do end up using MO, make sure your left pane mimics the right pane, I suggest you sort your left and right panes to fit this above order; then run LOOT, click sort, wait, then click apply. After that, your right pane will be sorted into a priority it wants. Now match your left pane to the right.
snelss0
Also, if you've installed mods through the workshop, they reinstall when you install skyrim. If you have, ensure that you unsubscribe to the mod on the workshop first, and then delete the mod.

snelss0
Read the topic on the first link I sent you. It goes over how to properly deal with a clean install of your skyrim. Also read the last post I made. If you've installed through the workshop, it may be resinstalling them even if you have deleted your whole skyrim folder! Workshop suuucks :P
