Cennick
Hello all, Having a Huge issue with Skyrim at the moment. You see I have been out of the PC gaming world for a long time. Finally Built a new computer and wanted to get back to my Skyrim modding Roots. Here is where the issue Lies. I have a i5 6400 overclocked to 4.3GHz (with the custom BIOS)Asus z170-a motherboardAsus DUAL GTX 1070 OverclockedPNY 120GB ssdWD 1TB Blue16 gigs of DDR4 2133 All Drivers are up to date and installed manually. Now under any other Game this Computer is beast (Witcher 3 Ultra + Hairworks maxed out) I get between 70 and 90 FPS However when i load up Vanilla Skyrim i am getting at best 45 but on average 15 to 20 FPS with this build. Skyrim Special edition runs just fine, and if there were the mods i wanted i would just use it, However there is nothing quite like Modded original Skyrim. I want to play it however i can't even add simple texture mods at those Frames. My PC under no circumstances should be running at embarrassingly low frames on Skyrim. My question is this, Can anyone think of what might be going on as far as a possible conflict or Patch that is needed as i have seen people with the newer architecture cards running amazing Modded versions on youtube without my performance loss. phantompally76
Try uninstalling the SSE and see if that improves your performance with the LE. I promise you, I'm not joking. Installing the SSE absolutely hosed my original game, and I solved all issues by uninstalling the SE. At any rate, it's worth a shot, and you don't have much to lose by trying it. Moopfam
Is your i5 6400 a "K" version (i5 6400k)?
