Risuun
Here's a pic of some normal maps I experimented with for the eyes. I'm really happy with how much life it seems to add to the eyes (I used some illusion magic for quick and dirty lighting in the screenshots). If anyone's interested in this being posted as a basic mod, let me know. Oh, I forgot to label the image, but the top image is the updated normal (NO texture change of any kind other than normal map, just "Eyes Skyrim" by Mr Dave in both top and bottom). Again, just experimenting; I might see what would happen with some of the more elaborate eye shapes of the other races. Thanks for checking this out. Risuun
After testing my mod out for a while, the main thing I don't like is that this also changes where the catchlight falls (making that aspect unnatural). I've thought about putting a mesh (lens) in front of the iris, but I don't know how to make everything but the catch-lights (cubemaps) invisible. Wouldn't a transparency effect knock out even the cubemap? Anyway, some help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
throttlekitty
The best way to go would be to reduce the values in eyeenvironmentmask_m, but it seems that most eyes use this file, so you'd be changing the effect for NPCs as well. this would reduce how strong the cubemap will appear on the eye.
