NMMse left bar controls & mods window glitching?

After I navigate the nmm display (looking at the updates needed category) all the categories stretch to their max size. Also when I try to update a mod and hover over mod updates I'm only getting two options

 

1) fix download id's and check for mod updates

2) just check for missing download id's.

 

I've been using the 1st option to try and update but it hasn't done anything.

According to the mod author that should be working, but of course it's not. should I uninstall/ reinstall? I'm not finding any other threads other than peeps with the same issue. The mod I'm trying to update is Skytest Realistic Animals
