OBAY

Recommended Posts

I saw the one of the freakiest ads on the side of a bus this morning. It said: "Obay, for when other parental controls like shouting don't work."

Then I came home on the bus and saw another ad shown in the link somewhere in this post. It freaked me out.

I googled it and

Freaky or what?

Doesn't it at least scare you that someone was faking this Sh*t?

I mean when I first saw it in the morning, I was like "woah, that can't possibly be real"

But it was on a bus, so I knew that it was no minor prank.

And It was very Professionally done, so I had to make sure once and for all it was someone's sick joke.

Uuugghhhh.......scary.

Is this really where the world is headed?

No reason to get freaked out. If it existed, there would be serious moral objections to its use (especially when there may be even worse uses than prescribed). Just because North Korea and some other parts of the world have gone nuts doesn't mean everyone is down for this sort of thing... Least of all Canadians... I mean comeon, you guys don't even have half the social problems as your neighbor to the south.

You should have read... This is some marketing thing being run by a college, it is designed to create a controversy. Chances are it's an ad for promoting their liberal arts department or to try and encourage people to be more unique.

Considering the rather high ammount of drugging of children with this convenient diagnosis of "attention deficit disorder" and others .. which in some cases is just shorthand for 'your kid's got the high energy of a kid' - I don't find it at all odd that this ad campaign caused confusion.

I gleaned from the articles about it that they were trying to protest the myriad drugging of children into adult-acceptable behavior. But I think they actually caused more confusion with it and it is amusing that groups such as Scientology had the finger pointed at them as the originators.
