KooriTora
I have no idea what exactly is causing this crash, but it's the second save it's happened to me in. The first time, I had just finished talking to Jarl Balgruuf about the dragon seen at Helgen. I went to the Wind District, and I crashed while listening to Brenuin begging Ysolda on the stairs down to the marketplace. I reloaded my save, but then I crashed again when I found Saffir talking to Amren. I decided to make a new game since then, and I've spent a while avoiding Whiterun, just doing whatever comes up. I'm sing Alternate Start, and I haven't started the Helgen/dragon quest yet. I just decided to stop in Whiterun and sell some stuff. It's about 7:59 a.m. in the game, I'm standing outside Belethor's General Goods, and since the store isn't open, I decide to Wait an hour. That's when I crashed again. [i've also tried not Waiting, but just... Waiting. Listening to Nazeem snark at the people.] Again, I decided to detour. Instead of Waiting, I went up to talk to Danica Pure-Spring for a while with Heimskr ranting in the background, and while she was telling me about the tree, Skyrim crashed once more. And this isn't the only crash I'm experiencing... Back when I was dealing with the vampire problem in Morthal, I went into the Moorside Inn, and then I got the same crash message. Unfortunately, this one doesn't want to crash directly to the desktop. I hear the message pop up in the background as soon as the loading screen starts, and while the smoke swirls up from the corner, nothing else happens. I can sit there and watch the smoke all day, but task manager tells me the game is not responding. I tested a couple other inns, just to see. I got into the Windpeak Inn in Dawnstar just fine and came back out just as easily, but I got the same crash in Whiterun's Bannered Mare. snelss0
Try making sure that your xpmse skeleton is installed at the bottom of your load order if using it.Also, your culprit might be FNIS. It is incompatible with Legacy of the Dragonborn, as are most animations. Make sure that you have none of these installed. If you have moved mods or deleted mods from your game and yet are still playing the same save, this also can cause CTD. Start a new game with no animations and make sure you have the Legacy of the Dragonborn patch that you have to download with it.
KooriTora
Ah- Sure, I'll try that, but which one's FNIS? xDWell, I didn't know "XPMS" is a thing you install, not a thing that's just there. Now that you've mentioned it, I've installed XPMSE and it seems to have fixed everything so far... But I just know something else is bound to go wrong in the future.I still don't know what FNIS is, but it's nothing I think I've installed.Thank you! snelss0
Fores New Idles is a program that lets you change the animations within your game. I use Realistic Animation Project and PCEA2 mods. What that does is when I install those and set them up, they will not work in your game. Any animation won't work in your game if it is custom and not vanilla based. So what FNIS does is it puts those animations into your game in a proper way so they work. Basically if you have an animation that needs FNIS, you download FNIS and then go to your steam/steamapps/common/skyrim/data/tools folder and there inside you will see FNIS for users. Go to that and select GenerateFNISforusers and then run it and click the big button in the middle. It will run through all the animations you've installed and will apply them. KooriTora
Oooh... o: Well, I don't think I have any animations installed, but if I ever find any, I'll remember FNIS.
