Kyukatsuki
Lets say I'm playing at 1080 and trying to maintain at least 60 frames per second. What textures should I use?If I mod in 2k textures, will I be able to tell with a 1080 resolution? What about 4k textures? What's the performance hit?Are textures even worth bothering about at 1080? Basically my overall question is:Is it worth it to use textures above 1k if you're not gaming above a resolution of 1080? Rig info-3770k i7 @4500Ghz32Gb RAMx2 980Pro SSD's Raid-0Radeon HD-7990 (3Gb x2 Dual Core)(mostly don't use the X-Fire function)Overkill for the games I play (mostly) -I'm only gaming at 1080-I do want 60 fps-Will I notice a difference between 1k vs 2k vs 4k at 1080?-Is there a "significant" performance drop at 4k vs 2k vs 1k? FrankFamily
"What textures should I use?" Monitor resolution is one of the less important factors for texture resolution. "If I mod in 2k textures, will I be able to tell with a 1080 resolution?" Same as above, depends on the object, it's size, how close you'd normally look at it, its a focal item or background etc "What about 4k textures? What's the performance hit?" vram, lots of it "Are textures even worth bothering about at 1080?" Absolutely, 1080 isn't crappy at all. "Will I notice a difference between 1k vs 2k vs 4k at 1080? & Is there a "significant" performance drop at 4k vs 2k vs 1k?" Yes and Yes, as always, balance.
