Nexus Mod Manager? How to setup.

So is there a guide anywhere that explains how to set up your downloads to install with the mod manager properly?

I have it installed but I don't want and am not going to use it myself because I prefer doing things manually (also I've done a ton of manual stuff and I don't know if it will modify anything if I run the client atm.)

NMM sets up automatically if you use the default settings just follow the prompts. When you download a particular Mod you can use Download with Mod Manager or Download Manually. If you select Download with Manager,

open up NMM and you will see the file download progress in the download manager window. Once done select the file and NMM will open the mod and you will see it in the mods menu section. Click on the mod and select install mod. If you download manually then when the file has finished downloading open NMN and select the mod selection menu click on the first icon and select the directory the downloaded mod is in and click on it. Walla the mod will list in the mods section and you click on that mod and select install. I think you are making a mistake not using NMM. First it tracks the file on Nexus and lets you know if there is a update available. If there is an update all you have to do it click on that mod and it will automatically go to the file on nexus. Then follow the steps above and update the mod. If you want to delete a mod, NMM will clear out all the files associated for the mod automatically. If you are installing mods manually it is hard to remember which files need to be deleted for a particular mod if you decide to remove it. NMM remembers and does that for you. I don't understand why you even installed NMM if you are not going to use it.

I'm also having this problem. I already have a Data folder in my Steam folder where mods from the Workshop are located. Should I set the Mod directory to that location? Also, the error says that the Install info directory should be moved out of the program files folder, but I left it default, which is "c:\Games\Nexus Mod Manager\Skyrim\Install Info". So any idea what I'm doing wrong?

FIX:

-> Navigate directly to your Nexus Mod Manager folder wherever it is located, even if it is nested within Program Files.

-> Right-click on the Nexus Mod Manager application

-> Select run as Administrator
