Hi

I'm having this problem now, but just with one character (which happens to be my main one) does anyone have a solution for this?

:thanks:

Ah, I'm not the only one! I say this because you must be using OBSE, yes? (You have Streamline and Keychain listed in your mods list). In fact, I had to start a new character because whenever I tried to load the old save in obse, Oblivion crashed right at the loading screen (bizzare to be sure, but obse was perfectly happy to work properly if I started a new character). Anyway, I, too, find that loading a saved game in-game will cause Oblivion to crash unless the save you are loading uses the same cell/area that your character is currently in. So, for instance, I walk into a vendor's shop and save the game. I accidently sell something I wanted to keep, so I reload, and I don't have any problems. But, if I try to load the save after leaving the shop, I'll get a Crash to Desktop. It is annoying as all get out, and I have no idea what to do about it. I'm just thankful obse is working for my new character...

I don't have OBSE but i'm still getting this problem, what's really annoying is it has only just started. I have however recently tried Kvatch rebuilt and I see that is in your mod list, I wonder if that is anything to do witth it?

I have seen the same problem. And I saw it for some time before installing Kvatch rebuilt. Also dont use FakeHDR or Dark UI. Currently I don't have a fix, but I am researching it and will post when I do find it.

Before I start, I am suspecting the Unofficial Oblivion Patch. There may be an updated version

DLC horsearmor caused me a few problems, including Shadowmere disappearing from the game and CTD crashes.

There is a new version of Streamline out that seems to work better than 2.1

I will get back after trying the updated patch for Unoficial Oblivion Patch (a patch for a patch!)

just to let you all know I dont use the unofficial patch as it caused too many problems, so I dont think that is it either. sigh. Do you edit your character and save a lot. i do and i'm wondering if I maybe I over did it. I've read that loading saves from in game can cause crashes, (though I didn't know that before i got this problem) and that you should quit to the main menu to avoid problems.

If I remember correctly, this is something that the game does not do well, or became less able to do well with the 1.2 series of patches. I believe the cause is that when you try to load a game with things already loaded, the game has trouble unloading and reloading information, causing a crash... Similar to what happens when you don't have enough RAM to do what the game wants to do. Having many large mods in place can make this worse since those mods are taking up space in RAM. If you have less than 2GB ram, the easiest solution would be to get more RAM. If you're already at 2GB, you might want to try disabling some non-essential mods to see if things work better. Or only load games when you're playing fresh... Additionally, loading a game that was saved within the same area that you're currently in has been reported as being more likely to crash than loading a save just outside, if that helps.
