HiImnickwhoareu
I haven't had a single problem with skyrim, up until now, I installed 3 mods, they can be found below, this was done through the Nexus Mod tool. Once I had activated the mods, I noticed that they weren't working, so I deleted them and the Mod Nexus tool as I believed the ordeal to be somewhat pointless. The problem I have run into now is that, my save files will not start up. Everytime I try and load the files, I crash to the desktop. I have created a new game and run into literally no problems, it just happens to be these specific save files. I have checked that I have the latest drivers, I have deleted skyrimprefs and skyrim.ini. I have reinstalled several times. I literally have no idea what I can do, if anybody has even the slightest idea of how I can address this, please do not hesitate to tell me. Uzibeatle
Rather odd that. All those mods you listed are merely texture replacements and that should have zero effect on save files, least in my experience using prior games using this same engine. Where one usually runs into save game issues is when one has loaded various esps that effect game playin some way and when removing those one can run into problems with save games that relied on those mods. Of the ones you list I'm using the body mod. It works fine. If the mods were not working on your system you did something wrong, perhaps had NMM misconfigured in some way. As to why removing mods that supposedly weren't ever working would effect old save games is a mystery alright. I can't think of anything to recommend that would be of help. It is baffling why mere texture replacement removal would ruin prior save games. New one on me and I've been installing mods to these games since Fallout 3 was out some years back. I suspect you had some game modification ESP's installed you failed to note and those being removed may be the cause of the old saves not working now. I'll just add it was possible in Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, which are both based on the same engine used here and in Oblivion thatsave games could become so corrupted that they would cause crashing and the only way out was to revert to old save or start over. That was with a game modded OR NOT. That is a 'feature' of the genius of Bethesda coding.
HiImnickwhoareu
I was thinking the same thing, that's why I am so baffled.
HiImnickwhoareu
I went into data and took out updates.esm and the game worked, not sure how, though. I then put it back in, and it continued to work.
