Herolegend
hey was wondering if anyone knows whats causing it, i can hear npc 's voices during dialogue, but none of my races characters say anything when i attack say no grunts or battle screams, i have installed Mystic elf voice , companions voice pack with that 12 merged in one esp, and demon race, but it was working fine till a while ago, I'm not sure whats happened but the sound folder is still there in data and its filled up so wondering why the voices of my characters stopped working, any clues? I unchecked everything in obmm, and still didn't fix it when i started a new game no sound. I swear if i fix this Im not going to install any more mods lol I forgot to mention that I archive invalidation with all checked all the time, don't know if that makes a difference? why wont my character shout when i power attack. Herolegend
I really cant see what caused this a mod or Archive invalidation? i use Oblivion Content Validator v1.1.0.exe once its captured all files i go in obmm and utilities > archive invalidation > checked BSA alteration, all ticked file types to include, all others ticked exept pack face textures and auto update at the bottom is unticked. anyone might know the problem to this? Have i somehow altered the BSA sound files using obmm and archive invalidation? edit: iv been doing some messing about and its a mod thats making the voices dissapear but which one lawlz this is going to take forever for those of you that know me and how many merged mods I'm running found it cssBase.esm apparently something is wrong with that? it comes with companions sounds css eg/ cssCalisto cssEdwin , cssSafana I installed all 12 and using cssMerged12Sets i guess i got to ask the author whats wrong maybe they will know. Herolegend
yeah? are you by chance using cssEdwin , cssSafana I installed all 12 and using cssMerged12Sets any of those voice mods for companions?
evilkoal
no... but i am using the CMCompanions modand a variety of 200+ other ones, all my mods that add places are merged, all UL are merged, and all BC are merged.all armor and quest mods are merged into one mod, and all the rest is separate...i checked the conflict thing, and some mods conflict with the (DIAL) section... but turning them off has no results. even my newer mods like KOTN dont have voices... Herolegend
I doubt its cm companions as I'm using that too, and voices work fine, I'm certain its one of your merged mods :( you ever try disabling all mods then check one by one, i hope you made a note of all the merged mods you installed, I would install them again one by one if i say found a mod in the merged that was causing the problem.another thing i think about is what if you accidentally moved some directory into another like say something in voice/sound folder? Things like this is reason why i make 2 whole backups of my game to use as reference.
evilkoal
found out my problem!as per your suggestion, i looked in my data folder, and it turns out that there were some sound folders that were outside of where they were supposed to be...same with some of my LOD textures (thats why everything was black lol but yeah, i keep all my files organized into "quests" "textures" and all that, in a separate folder in the bethsoft directory. i have had to reinstall all of my mods numerous times :\so it is always helpful, because they are there if i need to re-do everything in their original package :)
