Energy Gates

An item I wish was available for settlement building, is an energy gate that one could install and incorporate into their settlement walls. This energy gate would be like the ones from Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 (example: Vault City) that were incorporated into a settlement's wall system. I use the concrete building sections from the workshop to build my settlement walls; however I have a large entryway gap that needs some type of gate installed.

Basically the gate would consists of two vertical rounded metal posts approximately 8 feet in height and 10 inches in diameter. Each post would have a flat side to allow them to be able to butt up against walls cleanly; top view of a energy post: [) . Located every two feet up the metal post, would be nozzle like structures where the energy beams will radiate out from. The posts would be positioned away from each other with the nozzles ends oriented towards each other; they can be placed with a varying distance between them, say 10 minimum to 300 maximum positions. This would allow an energy gate to span a varying gap and having an adequate maximum gap spacing would allow an energy gate to accommodate a wall system incorporated with a structure like the Sanctuary Bridge. One of the metal posts would have a switch (like the ones used for the highway lifts in Fallout 4) located on both sides of the post so the gate can be turned off and on by the player (friendly NPCs could bring down the gate by just walking up to it displaying an animation of using the buttons). The gate would also have a default and would turn back on after 30 seconds (that way the gate doesn't remain down if used by NPCs). The energy gate would require power but does not have to be directly hooked up via a power conduit (avoids those messy wires). The energy beams can come in several colors (red: military, blue: civilian, orange: industrial). The beams could be modeled after the Star Wars Lightsabres mod by DMagnus (with his permission of course); however I would increase the beam diameter by a factor of 3. Also if you place enough posts along a given line, you could also build an energy fence.

Anyway, just an idea I have for making those early Fallout energy gates available for settlement building. If anyone is interested or needs more clarity (it is all in my head) please let me know.
