turbonello
How about a "auto poison arrows" mod? :)

EKMSkyrim
Great idea I though about it tooPoisons should be like an equipment not an item you just activate it and every next hit uses one of that specifically activated poison bottle. I also thoug that it would be cooler if weaker poisons (since where easier to make) would last longer like 3 hits per bottle and stronger poisons only enough for one dose. I agree poisons should be something to equip. In that case it would be ideal to have a bar showing you how much you have left, the same as you do for enchantments. I can't see that being possible or easy though, so instead it could just be as simple as "equipping" a stack of poisons and it reapplying automatically until you unequip it
turbonello
Which works how?I was thinking about something similar to what you and EKMSkyrim said. =) But, it could be something like this:On double-clicking on a poison, it should for example poison 10 arrows, so that you do not need to poisen one by one, every time you want to poisen your arrows. I was just thinking it because it could saved us some time as archers =) IRL it would have been that way... You would have dipped as many arrows as possible, one by one in the same bottle until it was empty. Dont you agree? =) :) Edited December 25, 2011 by turbonello
glowplug
Just like Paarthurnax said, "There are formalities". The problem is both where and how to place the script that would enable this...1. on the reciever (arrow etc)?2. on each arrow as it is fired?3. on the transmitter (scroll, potion/poison)? If Bethesda found this too complex in terms of processing then who are we to argue? I think I know a way to do this but I am waiting on the CS

It may be... But its also possible that Bethesda did not have that in mind when they created it as they did. =) The game is quite comprehensive, so it is possible that they havent thought of everything that is possible to think of. And therefore this forum(?) :P I think that number 2 is the answer.. If the script autopoisen (does the thing you have to do before shooting poison-arrows) one arrow at the time for 10 times (for example) out of one bottle; it would have done it... The hard thing, I think, would be to poisen 10 arrows with only one bottle... But, it was not my original idea. My original idea was that the script poisens the arrows for you, as long as you have poisen in your inventory, so you do not need to do it manualy (your character would have done it automatically). It would not be a cheat, I think... It would only save us some time that we could use for combat instead of the constant "inventory-peeking"). :) IRL; You do not have time to poisen your arrows in a battle... You got to have them prepared before the battle. ;-P I think the wise Paarthurnax would agree. =) Edited December 25, 2011 by turbonello
turbonello
Is it impossible then?
cppcooper
I think leaving things as they are, and merely finding a way to enable auto application of a stack of poisons would be best. They have it coded so that the poison is applied to the Bow not the Arrows. When you are creating mods for the game, the sky is not the limit. You still have to weave your way around what Bethesda hard coded into the engine. I have a feeling the poison being applied to the bow and not the arrows would be just one such instance. I think it is best to do it that way because it doesn't require as much modification, and works out for blades as well. There were magic bags of holding mods for Oblivion, so one could imagine there being similar mods for this game. Then so long as a trigger can be made to automate the mechanism the game already has for applying poisons, and remove any confirmations or auto accept them.. so long as that can be done then it is down to a matter of creating 2 objectsBag of Blade PoisoningBag of Bow Poisoning In case you want to use your weapons for different kinds of poisons, such as weakness poisons with your bow and paralysis on your blades. Worst case scenario though would be increasing the number of uses that a poison lasts for; we can be 99% sure this will be possible at the least. I just don't think it would be ideal I would rather pick a stack size and put it into a bag. Maybe even be able to equip and unequip the bags that way you can quickly disable the auto-application.
