Can't get Bethesda Screen to Start

Help please.

I can't get the Bethesda screen to start. Starting with NMM, F4SE, Fallout 4 launcher, or Steam all result in nothing. The game will not even begin.

Verified the integrity of the files. What the heck is going on and how do I fix it?

Skyrim and Skyrim SE both start without incidence from NMM, but not Fallout 4. Everything is up to date.

Stupid question really - mine that is  - but have you tried just restarting your computer?

I had the same issue pending the latest update of Win 10. I was trying everything until finally I just shut down and went for a cup of coffee trying to cool down a bit.

A couple of hours later I turned on my rig and hit the SE launcher. The game just started as if nothing had ever happened :wallbash:

I had this problem too. After trying for hours I found dat If u recover ur fallout4custom.ini (delete "[Archive]bInvalidateOlderFiles=1sResourceDataDirsFinal=" that Nexus wiki told u to do) and any other .ini file will finally fix this problem. I dont know why and that cause every mod being no effect :((((

Bernt, the restarting is always in my very limited bag of tools.

clegislator, I am having a hard time understanding what you described. However, I temporarily moved the three ini files to the desktop, but that did not help. Moved them back.

Still in need of a Fallout 4 guru. I have never needed to reinstall a steam game or use their backup procedure. Seems like a desperate move, but would this help? What is needed to do such a procedure?

I want to fix things before I go through the pain of Fallout 4 withdrawal.

This is the thread I was thinking of when driving home! Mixed it up with other support threads lol. I think I'm posting in too many of these! >.< Anyway an idea that came to me on my drive home from work today is that I seem to recall another user having a similar issue and it turned out to be their anti-virus application preventing the fallout executable from launching. It was a new issue too, either due to changes in fallout or changes in the AV program.
