im curious as to what others use, and what they have found luck or no luck with......i used MSE for a little while, but then it stopped updating, would say it couldnt find an internet connections or something, so i just stopped using it. also had a free year of McAfee when i bought my laptop, and i used it since it was free, but with all the perfectly fine freeware out there, there was no reason to resubscribe when the period ended.

avast for antivirus. i had avg before, but it would slow my computer down to a crawl

Kaspersky here and lavasoft adaware, also spybot.

I use Avast. Best free antivirus program in my opinion, I didn't have any serious problems for 2 years since I started using it.

I'm also using Web of trust in Opera, and Adblock.

I like to use Malwarebytes only. I can stand it when something like AVG is constantly scanning every single thing that I do. Hogs resources as well. So, I just stick with good ol' malwarebytes that will run only when I tell it too. I haven't ever had a problem with it.

Avast, I had it installed when I bought the PC, couple of months ago.

Kaspersky and Lavasoft since 2003. Never had any troubles.

oh yea i have Web of Trust and Adblock Plus for Firefox as well...i had some others like no script and stuff, but had deleted them when i thought they were causing issues, and never put them back when i elimiatned them as the problem

I use Microsoft Security Essentials. It seems to be the best I've ever tried and it doesn't bog down the computer the way AVG tends to do.
