ILuvMsMarvel
Being the avid travelers that we all are, throughout the world the quest possibilities abound and are out there to be found. You come across a man who wants you to go to Cave X, he may even mark the location on your map, but doesn't tell you squat about how to get there. You know where you have to end up, but what's the best way to get there from where you are? What if you decide to go there after you go to Solitude for some drinks with your pals at the Winking Skeever? Now you could go find someone to teach you that fancy clairvoyance spell, or hope to find it in a scroll in some random cave, but who wants to do that? Especially if you're not even the magic using type? Picture this if you will; getting your hands on an enchanted map which will show you several ways to get from where you are to that cave the man wanted you to go to. It's just a piece of cloth, so takes up practically no room amongst all the things you are carrying and you don't have to learn some spell to tell you how to get there, the map does that for you. Act now and this handy tool can be yours! So basically it's this: clairvoyance spell + map = Google Maps for Skyrim. Select your quest of choice, pull out the map and it will show you a way to get there from where you are. If it would even be possible to do? Just an idea, even if it can't be done or isn't a good idea, had to get it someplace other than my head.
Etemnatus
I find it's more fun to make up your own quickest route to a destination using your map experience, knowledge of the area or just dumb luck. Even if you screw up and take the long route there's always the fun in having your own little adventure inside an adventure. Better than just following a line on your map straight to a destination. That kind of thinking leads to games becoming too 'straight forward', no thinking and idiot proof thus boring.
