1. "Vanilla" means no mods, fyi. You said you play Vanilla Skyrim legendary, but then listed a ton of mods lol.

2. While your load order looks okay, I can't see if you are using other mods such as XPMSE, nor do I see if you are using NMM or MO. For that reason, I'll just say that your load order should look something generally like this below. You don't use some of these mods and some you do, so just keep it as a reference when installing:

Skyrim
Update
Dawnguard
Hearthfire
Dragonborn
Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch
[Other ESMs]
[Hi Res DLC]
SKSE Scripts (make sure these are properly installed and if you don't have it, you better get it.)
[Any mods that are utilities] (Bug fixes, safety load, better messagebox controls,...)
[All other ESPs]
[Custom Body Meshes]
[Custom Body Textures]
[Mods that don't overwrite SMIM]
Static Mesh Improvement Mod
[Mods that overwrite SMIM]
[Animations]
[Custom Skeleton](Xp32mse,...)
Alternate Start
Bashed Patch (If using Wrye Bash)
Dual Sheath Patch (if Using it)
RSPatch (Last almost always)

3. If you are using Mod organizer, make sure that your left side pane matches the right side pane in order. Generally I will sort both in the above listed order, then run LOOT and hit Apply. Then afterwards I sort the LEFT pane to match the right again as LOOT will move some mods on the right. Also if using MO, make sure your overwrites folder is empty.

4. Whenever moving or removing mods from an active save, it can cause CTDs intermittently. Make sure you test any changes you've made on a new save, as sometimes your problems will persist on the old save even if you've fixed the problem!

5. Above all when it comes to modding, remember the immortal words of Douglas Adams, “Shee, you guys are so unhip it’s a wonder your bums don’t fall off.”....Wait...no those aren't the right words. "Don't PANIC" would be the more appropriate quote.

Thank you snelss0 for your reply, I meant vanilla as to not be confused with the new remastered version that just came out, English is not my first language so I got confused, sorry about that :tongue:

I am using nexus mod manager by the way. Version 0.63.6

Incidentally, what is XPMSE?

on step 4 you say a new save, does that mean a new game? I am sorry I'm such a noob :sad:

Thank you all for your kindness :smile:

I will remember the word of wise ol' Douglas Adams, thanks for those!!

I just noticed mi Skyrim.ini that is on mydocuments/mygames/skyrim

is very short, looks like this:

[Display]

sD3DDevice="NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M"
[Grass]
b30GrassVS=0
[Water]
bReflectLODObjects=0
bReflectLODLand=1
bReflectSky=0
bReflectLODTrees=0
[General]
sLanguage=ENGLISH
Could this be the problem? on the crash fixes mod page, the author gives a few tips for extra stability and says to change a few values in the ini file, but as you can see my ini is suspiciously short, do you think that could be the issue?

Hah, that's okay :smile: And by new save I mean a completely fresh, new game.

XPMSE is a custom skeleton people use. If you say wanted to use a UNP or CBBE body, the skeleton could be used with that. Or if you wanted to add HTD physics to your body so certain parts move as you do, that is what you'd use. It works well with Dual Sheath Redux so you can display 2 swords at a time on your body...stuff like that. It's found here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/68000/?

It's not so much of a problem to have a small Skyrim.ini, but the problem I'm seeing is that some of your mods may request that you change certain values for them. Make sure you are reading in the install instructions what to change.

What you can do is download the existing premade skyrim prefs and inis mod, and then just go through onto each of your mods' pages and see if they request any files/ini tweaks. It'll save you a headache like this.
