epicbeaner
I have not played skyrim for several years but just recently reinstalled it on my PC again. Well I installed SKSE and tried to run it to see if I had done it correctly, on start up I get the error memory.c - !IsBadReadPtr(InPtr, InSize). I'm not running any mods just yet so I don't know whats causing the error. Could anyone help me please?Specs:AMD FX4300 Quad Core 3.80 GHz8 GB RAMNVIDIA GeForce GT 730661 GB freeSKSE 1.7.

epicbeaner
http://i.imgur.com/eZLDEIc.pngThis is a good video to get you into modding and the series shows you how to properly install SKSE I did every thing Like Gopher said to do when installing SKSE . I still get the same error but I did check to see if it was installed so I didn't hit okay on the error pop up and pulled up the console command SKSE was installed, I don't have any mods installed at all yet. Any Idea why I'm getting the error? Edited November 22, 2016 by epicbeaner
snelss0
If you don't have any mods installed, it is likely due to something corrupt in your main game files. I'd recommend a clean install.https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/906390-cleaning-skyrim-for-fresh-install/Once you do that, follow his guide once more exactly and reinstall SKSE

epicbeaner
Yeah, no didn't work. Same error. I don't know why I'm having such an issue doing this on this new rig. Would Windows 10 be causing an issue? On my old windows 7 machine I never had an issue running skyrim with SKSE.
snelss0
I'm using windows 10, no error. Not sure. A lot of people say it is a lingering file of the mod Overwolf. I don't know if you've used that, but that would be the one to look at. Also I see people restarting their computer and it working, so perhaps a defrag might help too?
