Crash right after start

Hello.

Few weeks ago, I decided to replay Oblivion before playing Skyrim for the first time. I downloaded and installed most of the mods listed in http://www.somethingfornobody.com/2011/oblivion-modding-guide/ but without using Wrye Bash (I just skipped mods that required WB to use, so just went with OOO instead of FCOM). Just before installing my own pack of mods (Actors in Charge, lot of armors and clothes, few new races, etc) I checked if Oblivion runs correctly. It did, so I began installation of the rest of my mods.

But when I finished and tried to run the game, it began to close right after start without even single message. I turned off every single one of said new mods and left only those that worked before - still nothing, game just run and close itself after half of second.

I have no idea what could go wrong and what can I do to fix it. Is there any way to check it? Just in case I attach my load order in txt file.

Thank you for your time and any advice or help.

But it worked before. Why is Wrye Bash so important? Does it containt some module to prevent mods from "bite" with each other?

When I tried to install it, Windows went into "alert mode" and refused to download the file, arguing that it may "damage your system".

Then Windows is being dumb.

Wrye Bash is important for several reasons.

A) Missing Masters. WB will alert you if you are missing masters, and what masters you are missing. This is almost certainly the cause of your CTD.

B) Bashed Patch. The Bashed Patch is an unbelievably powerful tool that allows multiple mods that would interfere with each other to exist in harmony. My game wouldn't even begin to function without it.

C) BAIN. Unlike OBMM or manual installs, BAIN can intelligently install and uninstall files, replacing removed files with proper ones from other mods, allowing quick reversion if you discover something messed up. Will also alert you to all conflicts with existing installed data, and data from other mods. Telling you which file will win out.

Get the 295-2 version from here, install it as "Standalone". Read up on how to use BAIN. The program is scary, but I guarantee that if you were using it, you'd know the answer to your problem.

Okay, it worked.

Somehow, one of said mods that worked before, was missing file (.esp from one of expansions, Isles, which I don't own), as Bash showed. No idea why it worked then but thanks to Wrye I could fix it and run the game without problems.

Thank you again for your advice.

Okay, I will try this solution and later post the results.

Is there any wiki or other guide about using Bashed Patch? I don't want to mess up more.

The Readme that comes with Bash is very, very extensive.

I'd suggest reading the Installers and Mods section in their entirety, the rest you can read if you need that particular function.
